Wondering why people are making a big deal out of a game and claiming that they claim it as a game changer are entirely different things.

I don't really see any hype for this game.  No giant billboards in Time Square, no TV commercials every 5 min, no gratuitous magazine ads like I've seen for some games.  The only hype I've seen for this game is you making this thread to complain about the hype. 

I don't know who called it a game changer.

The game is doing some new things gameplay wise for action RPGs/hack n slash RPGs.

Anyways.... although I'm buying it I will say this.
Demon's Soul will be lucky to sell 80,000 copies in the USA.

Also people are always hyping up exclusives especially this gen.
Last year 360 fan boys were going on about getting Operation Darkness,Spectral Force 3.and Zoids Assault and laughing at PS3's RPGs like they got the 3 most amazing RPG type games in the history of games.

PS3 fan boys earlier this year were acting like they received the same with Cross Edge acting like they were going to get the RPG to end all RPGs.

It was on gamefaqs message board so its long gone.

What person or publication of any credibility have said that this game would be a game changer?? Can we have some links as proof please? Otherwise this thread has ZERO credibility.

Doesn't Demon's Soul have an 88 on metacritic and a 90 from Eurogamer...?
I think that's pretty good considering most RPG's on the HD consoles haven't done so well this gen

Demon's Souls is ridiculous under hyped. It's easily the best game I've played this year. Not any of the thread you've linked to have set any precedence on the sales of the title, but rather talking about the game's very high quality.

Seriously, if you want to downplay a great game, at least have some sort of evidence to your claim. You have absolutely none.

Quality has never had a direct co-relation on sales and most likely never will.

Demon's Souls is fantastic and I expect it to sell no more than 150k lifetime in America. Anything more would be a surprise.

RPGs are not game changers. Huge hyped games like Final Fantasy XIII are game changers in a small aspect, but you're really overexagerrating it. A big deal is being made out of it because it is awesome, and everyone should give it a shot.

And this is not GameFAQS. Please do not bring that here.
