@Crashdown77 - yeah i'd prefer a black one, but if the Arcade only comes in gray, no problem. Still not sure though what the difference is between Arcade and Elite, besides the colour and the HDD?

Can somebody answer this? I'm really curious myself

The console itself is no different at all. Only the accesories that come with it. Though the newest arcade come with 512MB built in memory, because it comes with no hard disk. The Elite however comes with a hard disk and so there's no need for the internal 512MB. Other than that, they're exactly the same.

Wow, if the 299$ elite doesn't come with any games, this is pretty meh. Especially if you still need to buy the network adapter.

Well usually the Elite comes with two bundled full games at 299. The games are worth $60 total usually. The hard disk of 120GB costs around $120 when you buy it separately.. You can't buy a random hard disk and plug it in. It needs to be the ones from Microsoft...

The Pro comes bundled with two games as well, but that one is being discontinued, and are currently being priced between the arcade and Elite, which would make it $250 probably and comes with 60GB hard disk. That one is the best value for now.. They're clearing stock. So it means for $50 more than arcade, you get a hard disk, headset and two games, which in total is probably worth around $100-120.

The Arcade however comes bundled with nothing, or a few arcade games of maybe worth $5-$10. The drawback the Arcade has, is the lack of a hard disk. You can't download demos, buy DLC, play games from the original Xbox etc without a hard disk. You can always buy the hard disk separately though, but it'll cost you more in the end... If you don't need online and only want to play games, the Arcade is fine.. But if you want to try demos etc, you're better off with a Pro/Elite.

My opinion is that the Pro is the best value, especially now because they're clearing stock.. If you want an X360, get a pro for $250 while you can..

Elite doesn't have wifi.

If your looking for good audio PS3 is the only console with trueHD audio.

You can only upgrade your harddrive by purchasing a new one like giant memory cards. Your harddrive will never get bigger than 120gb.

PS3 can upgrade to 500gb.

His question had absolutely nothing to do with the PS3.

Dude you do not need wifi for the 360...sure its a touch more convenient, but a hardlined ethernet cable is more reliable and way way cheaper.

What if you don't have an ethernet port? I only have 1 ethernet port, so it is lucky my PS3 has wi-fi

Well its still so much cheaper to buy a router than the wifi add-on.

? I have an ethernet port, and wireless internet, so luckily, I have my 360 attached via Ethernet and my PS3 on wi-fi. Why would I get a router

Yeah i know, but my appartment wont really allow it.. id have to draw the cable across the floor, or get a 20m (70 feet.. i think thats a right conversion) ethernet cable.

Oh cool if theres a 2 game bundle for 299, cus only a console for 299 seems a bit "expensive" if i can get the same console but without a HDD for what, 149$? 199$? Still think ill be buying an Arcade model (or Pro, now that you mention it).

The reason i was interested in the Elite to begin with was because i thought it had built in WiFi and was pretty mych the same as the PS3. But i've come to learn that an Arcade (or Pro) might be a better investment. Well, come to think of it.. ill need a Pro.. since i need to download some demos which cant has to be installed. And since the Xbox is suppose to have more demos then the PS3, it seems stupid to not take advantage of that.

But that WiFi is killing me.. isnt it very over priced? I think its like 90$ here in sweden. Mightve droped in price since i last heard about it.. dunno.

And about being banned from XBL, i have alot of friends thats hacked their console, pretty much anyone with an xbox over here has a hacked unit (or it might just be that i know a bunch of shady people :D), but they all have been online with their xbox, so there must be a way to get around it.

Well in that case you will probably be better off with the wifi add-on lol.

Hehe yeah.

I just visited xbox.com and the adapter is freaking 99USD if bought in the US. And 115USD if bought in Sweden. Thats more than half of what the freaking console will cost me!! The console is 1500sek, and the WiFi adapter is at 799(800)SEK. Thats just crazy. It be cheaper to buy a 70 long ethernet cable :DD
