Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo patents Wii Remote Football contoller

Yes Nintendo have gone and added another peripheral to their collection. I just don't know which one is weirder.. This or the horse riding inflatable saddle thing :S

Firstly, the horse riding controller is way weirder..

And this is not football it is American Football or a handegg

And, how would this work? You can't throw properly as you won't release it, so I am confused

Unless it has pressure sensors, it's just worthless.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

First we get wiimotes impaling TV's.

Now, we're going to get this.

Won't somebody think of the TV's?

That would be cool... Better have a strap so I don't throw it like a reall football.

Not release in the conventional manner. You would just likely release a button when you would release normally.

Either that or smart release, as Bowling in Wii Sports Resort evidently does.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

But surely the point is you want to accurately replicate how you would release it and put spin on the ball, something you can't just do with a button press? Isn't that the point, or do you just make the throwing arc, and if you press the button at the right point you get a good throw? As with most motion controls, that doesn't really appeal to me, because in a full match you going to feel tired, especially if you have to do some catching motion..

As usual Gaf is having a field day with these patnets XD

It seems like Nintendo is making more trash controller than doing some hardcore games.

Take a look at my photos on flickr

Thats not football.

Thats handmelon
