Ok. I'll admit it. I have never really got that excited about final fantasy. Sorry.

That being said, I would like to point out that I HAVE infact purchased a Final fantasy game. I believe it was FF 7. I saw the LONG cut scene at the begining, tried to kill my ally at the begining, died, and quit the game. I have never picked up one since can someone answer me these questions:

• Will the upcoming final fantasy MMO have the same turn based combat system?
• Why are there two final fantasy 13s? (at least I think it's 13)
• I do know that Final Fantasy's have ingrossing stories, Can someone tell me if I do decide to get the next one, will I have any clue as to what the hell is going on?
• Which final fantasy 13 is better?

1-It will probably be real-time combat; don't confuse it with God of War action, you'll probably pick an action (attack or a spell) and wait for your character to prepare to do that action.
2-There are 2 FFXIII, because SE felt that VS wasn't different enough to warrant a XIV name. Plus the two games are a part of SE's Fabula Nova Cristallis compilation (no indications have been made that the stories will be connected, as far as I know).
3-Every FF has a new story, you don't need to know what happened in the previous game. However, for the fans of the series there are easter eggs, such as Chocobos and Sid.
4-This is a matter of opinion, but from what I've seen Versus looks better. It just looks so much darker, more mature, emotional, and more epic. But, once again, this one's a matter of opinion.

It couldn't have been FF VII since the opening cutscene is only about a minute long, and you get no allies to start

1. no, both FF MMO's (11 & 14) dont have turn-based combat
2. there's actually three (Agito, Versus, and the regular) all three have different characters and stories but are set in the same universe
3. All of the main Final Fantasies are completely different from one another, if the title didn't say Final Fantasy, it would be it's own IP
4. No one knows yet, we'll have to wait and see

2) Two different developers. 13Versus is an action RPG by the kingdom hearts team for PS3. 13Agito is an action RPG for the PSP. Not sure what team but Nomura is somewhat involved in this. Regular FFXIII is a tradition RPG for PS360. It's turn based but not quite like FFVII. Much more fluid. Being made by the final Fantasy 10 team. So yea, 3 different Final Fantasy XIII's being made. All have differen't stories and characters and settings. But they just happen to take place in the same Universe.

3) Final Fantasy's aren't in a continuing story. Each one is a different RPG series in a way. The only sequals are Final Fantasy X-2 which is a sequal to X. A sequal to 4 but on Cell Phones and WiiWare only I believe. Pick up the next one, you won't have to worry about missing out on any part of the story. It's not Metal Gear or an entry in the Saw Movie Franchise, LOL.

4) Which ever one has the sexiest trailers to you :P. However it should be noted that we don't no much about VS13 yet. And it's also the only one we haven't seen gameplay for yet.

-The upcoming FF MMO will probably have a combat system like FF XI or XII where commands are entered and then executed according to character stats
-There seem to be two final fantasy 13s because one is the main final fantasy and there is a more action RPG spinoff being made called final fantasy 13 VERSUS
- The different numbered entries in the final fantasy series have completely separate stories from each other so you should have no problems there
- It depends what you are looking for, but FF 13 versus is a PS3 exclusive and the battle systems and feel of the games will be different so which one is better will depend on taste most likely

You did a very big mistake by not finishing Final Fantasy VII, it's the best one.

Anyway I'll answer your questions

1. I highly dought FFXIV will be turn base, not exactly sure but I just highly dought it.

2. Dunno why theres two (I'm not complaining), but both are completely different and they both have different ways of playing. FFXIII is more like the traditional Final Fantasy games, I think it has some type of turn base fighting, but FFVersusXIII is more like Kingdom Hearts it's like a JARPG.

3. Every Final Fantasy game is in a different world and a different story, they are not related in anyway. (unless it's a spin off game)

4. What ever style you prefer I guess, there's still very little information about FFVersusXIII, but I like the whole dark feel of FFVersusXIII so it might be better for me, I'll love both I'm sure of it. It's really hard to tell though, the release is still so far away

- no you should be fine all FF's are different
- haven't got a clue i haven't played them... but VS is looking better IMO
