I've seen a lot of threads about this retailer or that retailer selling out of the PS3 Slim and/or limiting one to a customer.  I've also seen guess after guess about how many units Sony is actually making available on the initial rollout.  My question is, does anyone have any FACTUALLY based estimates/guesstimates on how many units?  Can anbody point to any source(s) to ground this conversation in reality?  I'm just as excited and interested in what the Slim will do for PS3 sales as the next guy, but I'm looking for realistic information here people.

Why so modest with the numbers?

I guess the non-answers I've received confirm what I thought. Nobody has any clue how many Sony manufactured.

I think only Sony know as of now but beeing as they have been manufacturing these since before E3 i would say the is quite a few out there

There has been no official word on those numbers yet, at least as far as I know.

I think the number was 200k for Japan's launch. No idea about any other numbers.
