Compare total equity and total assets with rivals (like Microsoft and consumer electronics companies)

That wikipedia says nothing at all about assets and equity and gives no numbers.  Is this further proof you are pulling numbers out of thin air or would you actually like to show a real source for your data and a direct line following the reasoning to your statements?

I mean, why else are you dodging the question of a source so much and when you do give one, you give a generic wiki page that doesn't list any info with which to support your claims...

Typical MikeB.  I mean seriously if I lookup the word "predicatable" in the dictionary you are probably listed as a sub-category.

I won't, you will have to do with "Sony won't do it".

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

But I thought you had no problem admitting when you were wrong?

Remains to be seen:

- Slimline PS3 for 2009 (confirmed) and its impact.
- Impact of Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3 for Japan.

Seems promising so far, I think.

I should probably add my technology predictions, for example around launch it was claimed the PS3 could not perform good HDR and anti-aliasing simultaneously. Back then I stated it could be done. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was pretty quick to prove me right.

Also over the years I discussed the potential of performing anti-aliasing using the Cell's SPUs, others claimed that wouldn't be possible. God of War 3 is today's best example of this being possible.

Sort of fizzled.  They should've released the 360 rev in Japan too, they probably could've gotten another 150k out of collectors, otakus and gaijuns, and then FFXIII actually could've crossed 2m.

Zero lasting hardware impact too really.  Thankfully, Sony had Torne, Hokuto and RGG4 to swing things around recently.

The only point of that comment was some strange worries Sony was in danger of bankrupting, nothing more nothing less. They have a lot of additional assets, if they buy back shares and pay back all other 3rd party investments they still have a surplus of 50 billion USD worth in assets.

Of course you prefer to ignore the core of the comment.

In theory could, not in reality would. It would not make sense, Sony would then need to scale down dramatically.

Mike I am sorry but Kowenicki is right.

You are failing to take into account asset write-downs, investor withdrawals, confidence reductions etc.  You also greatly overestimate Sony's liquidity, which can be seen easily from any one of their financial reports from the last decade.

Whilst you correctly point out that Sony obviously would never give away 100 million PS3's, you're blatantly incorrect in your suggestion that if they did, at this point in time, they could do so without entering bankruptcy protection.  Whether Sony ever came out of that protection is another matter that would depend largely on consumer confidence and the attitude the Japanes Government took to a bail out.

Lol, a lot more precise than everyone's hero and main man; John Lucas. Where is he by the way? He's all but disappeared and I don't think its only because I disagree with his lofty and less than precise predictions.

"Less than precise?" Man, you're more charitable than I am.

After being dead on for one year about the Wii, he went and turned in a prediction that turned out to be the LEAST accurate of anyone on VGC. Even though it was presented as a "I'm half joking, but hear me out anyway..." prediction, you can bet cash money he would have been back to post about it (in Mike B style) had he been on the money once again.

I can also add the worth of Blu-Ray streaming to this list. Some time ago, various ports needed a partial harddrive install. Many claimed PS3 games in general would require a harddrive install or would suffer from long loading times.

I stated with optimised Blu-Ray streaming that would not have to be the case and would produce great results. Games like God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 are the best looking console games out there, they do not require a harddrive install and they provide seamless loading throughout the entire game.
