So which feature do you expect to be removed in the next revision MikeB that suddenly will not matter, the feature list is falling as quick as the price.

What do you mean? It matters to me.

But it does not matter as much to everyone. There are plenty of people on here claiming this had 0% value to them, not everyone has a real desire to look under the hood.

I think all the core technology is still there, like I stated in the past: Blu-Ray, Cell, default harddrive, gigabit ethernet, USB, Wi-Fi, etc. Never did I say OtherOS support is to be considered to be a core feature of the PS3. Playstation Home for example I consider far more a core feature for the long run.

To quote myself from VGChartz on 3 March 2008:

"Personally I think all the extras (Wi-Fi, Home, PlayTV, PS3 games, webbrowser, large harddrive, MP3/MPG4/DivX/etc media support, etc) will likely still allow the PS3 to have an edge for a long period of time with regard to educated consumers. A future $299 priced slimline PS3 will likely do wonders."

As you can see, when talking about consumer foccused features OtherOS support wasn't by far the first thing on my mind.

And I also think the feature set is expanding in other ways, like for example VidZone, Dynamic Themes, Photo Gallery, etc, etc.

not for me... its all a bit of a laugh for me.

people are way too sensitive on here.

I still struggle with the concept of being banned for anything! lol. I mean... we are banning people for bitching and arguing about a piece of plastic and transistors. Its madness when you think about it.

At times the bans do seem justified though, as in the case with people who insult other users.

I'd bet for some a ban is a blessing, they finallly get some spare time to actually PLAY games.

...Unless they use it to lurk and eat their hearts out, obviously.

@ kowenicki

Yes, I consider Playstation Home to be an ever maturing core feature. PlayTV I consider an extra option (but would love to see become a core feature for a future model as stated around the PS3's launch), which is still developing and AFAIK sold pretty well in the UK. More regions are to follow. One UK buddy on my friendlist is almost always using PlayTV when he's not playing games.

@ kowenicki

Well I read, Sony already sold 85K units to UK retailers for its launch week.

For all the silly stuff MikeB says, I can't help but feel that there are other users who are equally or even more silly who don't get anywhere near as much hate.
There is no doubt that which side you're on matters just as much as what you say and how you say it.

Again, MikeB really does bring it on himself in a lot of ways. Yeah we have had a lot of people who made way worse predictions. Most of them wouldn't argue them for 300 posts while ignoring contradicting evidence though. John Lucas, for example, would just hit and run troll for the most part. A simple one liner, or start a new thread and let it go from there. It was the Nintendo Zealots we had at the time that made it unbearable and unavoidable. If MikeB learned to actually admit when he was proven wrong, or simply stopped deflecting counter arguments he wouldn't get the hate he does.

I'm done in here MikeB anyway, I said my piece and I'm not that bothered about you to trawl your post history for you portraying OS installation as a great feature (which I know you've said as much). I'll escape before the mobbing of you starts inevitably sooner or later.

I guess often I already think a few replies ahead. Very often I already know the counter arguments ahead of time, maybe because I often think deeper about something I write. Thus usually such counter arguments don't change my opinion at all and I have my reply ready quickly.

I do think I am openminded in general, an opinion is just an opinion, a prediction can be right or wrong, people here just calculate in the chances for fun to see you're right about your expectations. Of course, not everything can be predicted. Like predicting when a piece of software will be released exactly, there are too many factors not in your hands, execs are sometimes hard to predict or key programmer may get ill, etc.

And where did I say it's not a great and helpful feature to people interested?

Early sales reports are positive I would say.

Serious kowenicki appears....

People here do have me wrong I think, they just dont get me.

I mostly just like a really good arguement. The rest of the time I just like to stop people getting away with spouting opinions as facts... or lies as facts. I enjoy pointing out the error of their ways.. but its all in fun really.

I don't think so, this thread was 100% on topic and discussion worthy yet you dragged it off topic:
