Yeah we have had a lot of people who made way worse predictions. Most of them wouldn't argue them for 300 posts while ignoring contradicting evidence though
I guess often I already think a few replies ahead. Very often I already know the counter arguments ahead of time, maybe because I often think deeper about something I write. Thus usually such counter arguments don't change my opinion at all and I have my reply ready quickly.
I do think I am openminded in general, an opinion is just an opinion, a prediction can be right or wrong, people here just calculate in the chances for fun to see you're right about your expectations. Of course, not everything can be predicted. Like predicting when a piece of software will be released exactly, there are too many factors not in your hands, execs are sometimes hard to predict or key programmer may get ill, etc.
