John Lucas' predictions were crazier, I agree, and he received a lot of shit because of them. But I don't think the principal problem with MikeB are his predictions, but the way he behaves in the forums.

On an unrelated note:
Can we move this post to another forum, given the fact that this thread has absolutely no reason to be in the sales forum? Half of his stated predictions aren't sales predictions.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

please do it
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I would vote the latter. I usually ignore MikeB, but I occasionally read his more egregious posts for a laugh.
The Truth, MikeB is more than an extreme optimisit. He is a scorned Microsoft customer who is determined to exact revenge on MSFT for the offenses that they have committed against his family. To be more precise, he is a Sony fanboy. We are not the only forum that "bullies" him. He was banned on GAF for being a notorious fanboy. I remember he once argued that sending a notification to meet in HOME was a better feature than cross-game chat. Yeah, it is that bad.
The only people who like MikeB are
Sony fans.
If someone was to perfer the 360 and have the personality of MikeB then he would be banned within a couple of weeks.
Im just being real.
Im predicting 40 million PS3 lifetime sales and 200 million Xbox 360 and 199.9 million Wii's
^ Are you serious?
And the mods are hardly Sony fans on this site.
It's probable that the hypothetical person Garnett describes would be more controversial than MikeB because it would confront with a bigger portion of the core audience in this site. We have more PS3 fans here than XBox360 fans, so the proportion of the forumers that would somehow agree with that person would be smaller than the proportion of forumers that have some common views with MikeB.
Then is probable that, confronting with a bigger audience, his posts/threads would be even more flame prone than MikeB ones.
Im Super Duper Cerial.
Its nothing wrong with that, just like i naturally agree with nightSurge and Kowenicki, why?
Cause there 360 fans.
Now if Nightsurge said "PS3 slim suckz cuz of teh blue ray" then ill have to disagree,im loyal (its wearing thin MS) but im not blind.

Actually I do admit when I am wrong and when corrected politely I usually even thank the person who points this out to me.
It's also not like the original post doesn't highlight some things I underestimated, like for example the success of the Wii (not being successful itself, but the sheer amount of success). Before the Wii's launch some people were spelling Nintendo's doom and were even speculating on the company's exit from home console market. I then stated I thought Nintendo would be well more successful with the Wii than they were with the GameCube and thus I thought such doommongering (from some XBox fans) were uncalled for (like some have been speculating on "Sony's bankruptcy"). But actually it overtook the 360 in a jiffy and went past it in such a way unancitipated by me.

I think it still remains to be seen if the slimline PS3 will perform roughly as I expect. I think everyone's entitled to an opinion.
And for the record, I never ever owned one share of Sony stock or any other publicly trading company for that matter. It's not my type of sport.
