This article makes me want to buy this game more now. I hate when political BS gets thrown into the gaming world for no reason. Like racism in Resident evil 5 and then claiming racism in L4D 2 this is getting rediculous. As long as there isnt gay bashing and real racism going on then most of these people need to STFU. 99% of people dont know and they dont give a damn who makes the game as long as its good. And as long as it isnt blatantly racist or homophobic who gives a damn. enjoy the game.

THIS IS MY F* Point!

It's a good game, I'm going to buy it... that's it, but I am still wondering what to do with my M$ points, they are just so annoying!

wow people need to relax and take a chill pill. Mr. Wong needs to chill out and stop trying to get people to boycott an awesome game just because people dont believe in the same things he does. It sounds very hipocritical to me

Long Live SHIO!

LoL talk about blowing things out of proportion...I never thought it would even reach this point.

The guy was hired to write about the game universe, and that's it, so if this game does bad in sales, then foreshame to the people boycotting the game.

This game was created by a team of people, not a single person, and I'm sure everyone on the team have their own views on certain matters, but at the end of the day they put that aside to do the work and make the game.

The only thing people should boycott is bad games....boycotting good games will not only hurt these developers but in the end will hurt you, it'll just promote bad games and this is something we don't want.

I didn't buy it for this reason. I also didn't buy many other games for similar reasons, whether discrimination, marketed in poor taste, etc. and all games I would otherwise play, such as COD: WaW and LOTR Online.

In our society, money carries value and is often the only reason companies listen to people and try to make changes for the better, and I vote with my wallet.

I also refuse to shop at WalMart, even if it means I pay more. I buy American-made products whenever possible. I buy small company products over huge corporate products where possible. I don't buy from companies that have human rights violations, i try to spend money on locally produced products in my community, etc. etc. If I buy a used game - which I do rarely and only if it's just a ridiculously good bargain, not the $5 at Gamestop or something - I ALWAYS buy DLC to give money to that developer, even if it's just a theme or gamerpics.

And it doesn't matter if I am the only one in the world who does it, or whether anyone knows I did it. I know I did it, and that's important to me.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

the things people do. How is his intolerance of other peoples beliefs any different from their intolerance of his beliefs. It's all hypocritical to me.

Do you honestly think Card and other Mormons don't choose to purchase products or services produced or endorsed by gay people?  Not all.  Just not like all people that support GLBT rights will boycott the game.  But it's hardly being hypocritical.  I don't see anyone crying that Mormons refuse to watch reruns of Will and Grace.

Well, I'm not with him because I find ok to consume the work of minds that I don't agree with. I did not know about Card's politcal and religious stances, but I'll have them in the back of my mind from now on when I enjoy his works, exactly like I do with Heinlein, Junger, Cecil De Mille or Wagner.

And yet if someone wants to protest with their wallet against people who stand for intolerance or racial hatred, what is hypocritical in that? And if they want to raise consciousness about the issue, again it is hypocritical how?

Someone might think that it's not an effective way, given the minimal involvement of Card with the project. Or that his ideological stances should be confronted on their own ground. But still, if Wong's not comfortable with buying such a game and he thinks other people wouldnt be either if they were more informed about Card's stance then we shouldn't let the fact that we like gaming get in the way of  considering it a legitimate expression of his beliefs.

Wong is an idiot for saying his political and moral agenda are the cause of him not buying a game he obviously finds highly interesting. This should have nothing to do with his purchase and while Card will get some of that money many other poeple will also get that money who do agree with him. The fact that he made his opinion public instead of just keeping his mouth shut shows that he wants his voice to have some effect. The guy who actually did that story for the game has it right... agree to disagree and move on... Card may be a dick to one guy, but to another he makes sense... Wong seems to have forgotten something important... perhaps he needs to go back to American History and try figure shit out

It's nice that you have all those options... I sure wish I could buy only local and US made product, but I'm poor and so it's Chinese manufactures trash for me... and I work at Walmart... just because some stores have issues doesn't mean all stores are full of fucktards... I also rarely buy used goods... usually it's because I can't afford the 60 bucks and normally it's at a rental store so it's not like Gamestop who rips everyone off... the video store uses that to pay employees and purchase new titles

^Does American History teach something about not expressing your disagreement with the ideological or political stances of someone else? Or that you should not be free to act as you think is best - in the boundaries of the law - to contest such a stance?
I can't understand where all the animosity towards the guy comes from. Are some of you afraid of ideological and political commitment?
