"Imagine! Babyz Party" is NOT shovelware. Just because you hate the premise (and everything about it) doesn't mean that it's not a decent game that's catering to a specific target market.
Hardware is only a means to enjoy great games!

Shovelware is a derogatory computer jargon term that refers to software noted more for the quantity of what is included than for the quality or usefulness. The term is also used to refer to software that is ported from one computer platform or storage medium to another with little thought given to adapting it for use on the destination platform or medium, resulting in poor quality. Most people including regular, casual, hardcore gamers, and reviewers consider the quality of the software, in this case "Imagine! Babyz Party" very poor and the series itself, "imagine" is very large quantity wise therefore it would be considered shovelware. So yes as a matter of fact I did do my research. Imagine! Babyz Party = Shovelware |
Have you played it? Not couting the boart, where is it lacking quality? Have you even read the IGN review? Given the title, subject matter, target audiance (young girls I assume), what should they have done better quality of??? Can you find a review from someonce that has actually played the game that thinks this game lacks quality? The user ranknigs on Amazon give it 4 out of 5 stars. So really, what is your evidence that this game is not quality? Did you buy it and were disapointed by the quality? What didn't the game do that you were expecting? Were there some sort of glitches? I haven't found any review indicating that. Please, prove the lack of quality in this game. Was there not enough mini games included? What exactly is your problem with the game?

1. Have you played it? No.
2. Not couting the boart, where is it lacking quality? Lol and I made that assumption based on how there's only one review on this game on the whole planet.
3. Have you even read the IGN review? Yes.
4. Given the title, subject matter, target audiance (young girls I assume), what should they have done better quality of??? They should just kill the series altogether that would make me happy.
5. Can you find a review from someonce that has actually played the game that thinks this game lacks quality? Yes I can. Link - http://www.amazon.com/Imagine-Party-Babyz-Nintendo-Wii/product-reviews/B001DZDUA8/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_3?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addThreeStar -
6. The user ranknigs on Amazon give it 4 out of 5 stars. So really, what is your evidence that this game is not quality? I would never trust Amazon for game reviews especially for these kinds of games sorry.
7. Did you buy it and were disapointed by the quality? No.
8. What didn't the game do that you were expecting? Die.
9. Were there some sort of glitches? The game itself is a mockery of the "Wii's" potential and overall game library.
10. I haven't found any review indicating that. See #5.
11. Please, prove the lack of quality in this game. When compared to games such as No More Heroes, Red Steel, Rayman Raving Rabbids 1 &2, maybe even Dawn of Discovery, all of which are games that you own and are published by Ubisoft, it makes a complete mockery of Wii only adding to the fire that the Wii is a "kiddy" video game console and was made for "children" which is not true because the Wii is for everyone.
12. Was there not enough mini games included? Again see #1 or #7.
13. What exactly is your problem with the game? See #11
See. I understand where you are going at. That the game is aimed for little kids or girls right. I know little girls that wont play this game. They would look at you in question. And not even little boys. Because when I was little I was playing Street Fighters, Ninja Turles, Sonic the Hedgehog, Final Fantasy (ok I watched my friend play FF) But, imo, Ubisoft who is known for quality software is tainting their own name by publishing this crap series called Imagine! on the 50+ million seller Wii console to milk this cash cow fad that will surely fade and not only are they tainting their name, but actually they are hurting the Wii brand name even more so because when people walk in to a Gamestop and see half the shelves filled with shovelware (I am witness) they either avoid the Wii games altogether or laugh at them which is a bit imature. But when that happens who's going to get the blame, Ubisoft? No Nintendo is because people out there are ignorant and thats the truth. It hurt Atari's name back in the 80's and people have to learn from past mistakes. Even Shigeru Miyamoto said himself that video game developers need to start putting their AAA developers on the Wii. But will they? No it's been 3 years and things are still the same. If you want to say that shovelware games like the Imagine! series, or heck if it isn't shovelware as you say, then Nintendo should stop making Mario and Zelda because those cost more money to make and just make these kinds of games because they will be cheaper to produce and will raise their profits (in that case I would have break my relationship with Nintendo). These games have an audience yes, but there is a such thing as too much of something. I'm not saying all shovelware games should die, heck, not everyone is a good game creator but you can learn to be one. They need to tone down the amount of shovelware. I will always be a proud Nintendo fan and will always defend the Wii. In fact I believe the Wii is the best console to come out in ages. Thats my opinion.
Oh btw will you be picking up Muramasa: TDB? :)
NINTENDO
nintendo forever . . .

As long as people keep buying millions of copies of those games, they'll continue to be made

The Wii is getting the shovelware consistent with the winning console, but not the avalanche of great exclusives you'd expect to see. Great exclusives this gen are spread between the three systems, when last gen the ps2 had most of the noteworthy ones. |

I mean, not mean to embarass Wii but, WTH IS THIS

IS THIS FOR REAL?!?!?!?!
Reason I posted: I'm in shock!
Edit:
Okay, now that I've read through this and checked out the review for this game, I will take back my previous out of the blue shocking post.
If it's a game that plays well AND is fun to play, regardless of how it looks, I don't conceive it as a shovelware.
As for the Wii becoming the next "Atari debacle", just because it's not in the position to go that way, does not mean it is permanently safe!

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!
No, it will not stop, and no, it is not a problem. The more popular a console is, the more shovelware it gets. Think of it as a badge of honour. The PS2 had a lot of shovelware, and lets face it, the Wii is much more popular so it should have even more shovelware. It would only be a problem if the Wii only had shovelware.
So it either already faded before it began, or it will never fade

This doesn't make any sense.
You think Nintendo would raise their profits by dropping Mario and Zelda, and releasing baby games instead?
It's true, there is such a thing as too much of something. Perhaps the real problem is, there's too much money being put into the young male demographic, and not enough for everyone else. Notice how the quality games that more females enjoy (Ninty games, Sims, etc) explode in sales?
Besides, the DS has more shovelware than the Wii, yet nobody complains about it.

No obviously I don't believe that. WHAT! No way no shovelware game can outsell Mario thats just common sense. Maybe the example I used wasn't the best one. What I'm trying to say is, it s waay cheaper to produce shovelware and then Nintendo would save millions of $ making those games instead of making something like Kid Icarus Wii which I want them to make.
You say the DS has more shovelware than the Wii right. You also say nobody complains about it right. Do you know why? It is because the DS has a TON of awesome games first, second, and third party in fact that it kind of just douses the amount of shovelware on the DS anyway. For example, I can walk into a Gamestop looking for a DS game without having a particular game in mind and find a good one in a heartbeat right after I walk in. For Wii . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ummmm I looked through the whole shelf of Wii games and just couldn't find something. OH! I found a No More Heroes/Red Steel in one bundle for $30. Wow a great deal but im ok I really need to buy gas so i skipped on that. But you probably get my point.

My point is, Nintendo wouldn't save money by making shovelware, because shovelware wouldn't give them the ridiculous profits that their quality games do.
I'm also aware why nobody complains about DS' shovelware. What this means is the real problem isn't the Wii having so much shovelware, but rather the Wii lacking higher quality games. It basically comes back down to third parties not putting in the effort they usually do for the lead console.
