My advice, wait till September 1st when the Slim is released then buy the PS3 Slim, you'll not be dissapointed by the games trust me.

Maybe you can get some money from your parents if you buy a PS3 because of the Blu-Ray. They like to rent movies?

Our family has Blockbuster Pass. 40 dollars a month and we get 2 out at a time. they let me use one for a game or whatver, and they use theirs :).

I don't want to write the 360 off, but at 299 the ps3 seems to be too good to be true...

I say PS3. You listed more games for it, it's a great BR and DVD player for your new HD, and it is the same price.

My only suggestion is that you buy a phat. They'll be rare soon, and go down in value slower. They also might be built better, and the slims are unproven.

Hurry before they're gone though.

For pure gaming, I still think the 360 is better though. The used market and multiplats for the console are superior, and I still like the semi-exclusives better on the 360.

I don't own either console, but whenever I'm considering the purchase of a new system, I base my decision solely on a comparison of the available and upcoming exclusives that I would want to play. Everything else - i.e. features, other consoles don't have - is secondary to me and "just" a welcome bonus.

You are obviously interested in more PS3 exclusives, so I'd say get a PS3.

Bonus in this case: Your family gets a BluRay player.

See guys, the reason I ask is, I could be glaringly missing something. Can someone help me out with this HDMI and bluetooth Headset nonsense? My parents want to know about it. Any cheap ones out there? Anyone willing to help me out?

You can make your Own Games for the 360, and Sell them to other people.
