Forums - Sony - Sony is still looking at gaming from pure hi-tech perspective

Yeah this is the last straw, I am now convinced that I should not get the slim, I am so glad this thread made me realize that Sony is just a piece of sh!t. Goodbye PS3 Slim, how dare you give us the best audio!

Another anti-Sony board. It's good that at least one of the console makers is trying to keep up with the latest tech.

Better sound at a lower price, and you're saying that's bad? Like how?

To feel this "betterness", you must be happen to own some hi-end audiosystem which supports all of these techs. In other words, Sony screws 99.9% of customers to pay good plenty of money for something they won't ever use. That's what they call bang for your back xD

Lol.  One, I do own a high end system and want high end sound.  Two, so far as I'm aware the PS3 quite happily plays lo-fi too if that's your setup.  Again, the price is cheaper than before, and for those who want it they've added improved high end sound support.

So,  by giving me the sound I want while making the console cheaper they're screwing over those who don't want high end sound?  How?

Guess they're so evil!

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Hmm so let me get this straight.

If Sony drops price, slims the PS3 down and retains pretty much all of the same features, that is bad?

If Sony drops the price, slims the PS3 down and removes audio options and other features, that is positive?

Read what you're writing and realize just how stupid it looks.

If Sony had slimed the PS3 down and not overburdened it with another `hi-def` gimicks, this would have let them to make PS3 another 30$ cheaper. And that would be positive sign.

The current situation is clear illustration of Sony still misinterpreting gaming market, even though I, for a moment, thought of the opposite after all recent news.

If Sony had slimed the PS3 down and not overburdened it with another `hi-def` gimicks, then had dropped the price even more, that would be positive sign. The current situation is clear signal of Sony still misinterpreting gaming market, even though I, for a moment, though of the opposite after all recent news.

So shaving off $100 from the PS3 and sitting at $299 is negative?

What do you think of the $299 Elite by the way with it's lack of audio options, bluray, wifi and free online?

Keep the price right where it is or can you direct me to where you have a thread bitching about them too? They are screwing over us who want these features for the kind of price they are asking.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

So what is the gaming market?  Maybe the gaming market needs to change.  There was one day I found it necessary to upgrade from a 2600 to either a Colecovision or 5200, and I had to pay a little more money to do it.  That version of Donkey Kong that I received made it worth it.

Is it me, or is this thread kind of a waste of time? :/
