Forums - Nintendo - Namco: Wii can't handle Tekken 6, PSP can.

@Dinomax

okay dude... u kinda need to lighten up on the pics. plus did u not read my last post, i sorta gave a reason why a bundle like the MH one would work and why i think a tekken bundle wouldn't.  i think a lot of the examples u used were able to sell because they catered to the wiis mass audience or offered something completely different than what they would normally play.  i just don't think a tekken 6 bundle would fall into either of these catergories. but like i said before..... its just my opinion.

And now we meet the end game, the ""its my opinion."" argument the ultimate scapegoat from answering any questions.  Or any attempt to defend your statements either.

Sure its your opinion, psst heres a secret.

I ask for a answer and you give opinion.  See how this went?

You- ""I dont believe Tekken should be on the Wii.""
Me- ""Why not.""
You-""Because of controls, cant do it.""
Me- ""Controls exist, what now?""
You- ""People wont pay for bundle controllers!""
Me- ""Yes they have, many times.""
You- ""WOAH lay off buddy its my opinion.""

Me-

Tekken on PS3: People would look at it and say ,"Wow. This game looks great. It plays great, too!!"

Tekken on the 360: People would look at it and say, "Wow! It looks great and it plays great, too!"

Tekken on the PSP: People would see it in motion and say "Wow! It looks great and it plays great, too!" (and for a portable game, it WOULD look amazing)

For whatever reason, if the Wii got this game, it wouldn't be the best version. By comparison, the graphics wouldn't be as good. The default controller (and of multiple Wii owners that I know, I am the ONLY ONE with classic and Gamecube controllers) just doesn't lend itself to this game. When Nintendo had comparable hardware, Namco backed them (Soul Calibur 2/Starfox Assault). Right now, even I can see that it's a bad idea.

Wii only owners should ask Capcom for Marvel VS Capcom 3 instead.

It doesnt have to be the best.  It just has to be Good enough.

Thats how life works, you'll never get the best of anything, the 360 and PS3 will be replaced by more powerful machines, as will those, and those, etc.

Also for bolded.  Why in the love of christ does this statement keep getting brought up?

You + your friends or who you know doesnt equal the world.

Also ""But but but THE GRAPHICS""!  As the main argument is absolutly pointless when one of the most selling games of all time (meaning more people you know who own the system.)  look like this.

Nobody honestly gives two shits about graphics.  Stop trying to convince yourself or anyone that people care about graphics as much as the gaming press or people on forums make out, because lets face it, there nerds.

@ dinomax, are you suggesting that the same people who bought Wii fit are the ones who are going to be getting Tekken?

Dinomax, I hate to say it, but you're right. Namco, Me, the Wii fanbase (wich includes me), the people who didn't buy Wii versions of games that were also available on HD consoles with smaller install bases (in which the HD versions sold many times more) -We're all wrong. Namco SHOULD put resources into pushing the Wii hardware to its limit so that it would still disappoint consumers. We SHOULD have bought Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop! You ARE in touch with the Tekken audience. Online multiplayer fighting games DO work great on the Wii.

I've learned a great deal today.

And, I know it's hard to tell, but I was being sarcastic.

The OP asked why the PSP gets a version of Tekken 6 while the Wii doesn't. The Wii version will look shabby. On the PSP, even PS1 games look cutting edge. The Wii's unique interface doesn't over come the fact that it's hardware isn't a perfect fit for Tekken. And trust me. Despite my nerdish tendancies, I'm definitely no nerd.

I'm a geek!

The OP's question has been answered. Tekken STILL isn't coming out for the Wii. The world moves on.

@ d21, I gotta say, FF VII does not compare to CC in the graphics department

I know, Munkeh. But games like Spyro, Crash, and Street Fighter Alpha look great on that smaller, sharp screen. On the PS3 (on a larger screen), the same game looks pretty old. The small size hides a lot of flaws.
