Forums - Nintendo - Namco: Wii can't handle Tekken 6, PSP can.

Well, with PSP they can effectively make a PS2 version and just scale down the graphics, with Wii they have to rework the control scheme. And if you are going to moan about the d-pad, 360 anyone? It is just completely un-usable

And, Kylie is kind of right. If your console doesn't have the games you want, why not get a different console? You could probably sell your wii for $200, get an arcade, then buy some games. You just have to accept that the Wii cannot have all the PS360 games, and if you want those games, there is one clear answer

When Wii owners complain about a game not getting ported, PS360 owners tell them to buy another console.

When Sony/Microsoft buys exclusivity, 360/PS3 owners complain about not getting those games and cry "moneyhat!!"...

They probably mean the controls of the wii. The wii mote isn't meant for fighting.

What, the Wii controls? If they aren't good what's stopping you from buying other control options?

Try to read what i've written instead of what you just want to read. I've already covered that. It's not viable.

And both him and I proved points that make it more than viable, which you have yet to argue with.

You should see some of the inversion. There was actual whining about the Conduit being Wii exclusive. But after it came out, the whiners "forgot" they did that. Or Monster Hunter 3 (and them getting loads of other major Capcom games isn't acknowledged).

Just a few things about this reply:

Firstly, The Conduit was/is not part of a series;

Secondly, I certainly don't seem to recall many people whining about not getting The Conduit at all (granted, I'm sure there were at least a few). I do, however, recall many HD console owners becoming annoyingly incessant about its graphics and saying that they already had their hunger for shooters sated. No doubt just as annoying, but, nonetheless, very different. Reagardless, you're right, both are guilty of it, as NJ5 had pointed out. I'm just not convinced of this example;

Thidly, Monster Hunter 3 had most of its whining based on the fact that it had already been announced for another console and had previously had only been released on Sony consoles. That's much different from what is going on with Tekken 6. Many PS3 owners may have been excited about the prospect of playing MH3. They had reason to, afterall, I reiterate, it had only ever been released on a Sony platform and had already been announced.

To me, it just seems rather silly to complain about not getting a game from a series on a console that it has never even had a history with. Sure, there was reason to complain about not getting FFVII as an early N64 owner just as there was reason with frustration about not getting MH3 as an early PS3 owner. However furstrating it may be for PS3 owners to not get Mass Effect 2 after Bioware became property of EA, it just seems silly to complain about it. I mean you can say this about any 2nd/3rd party exclusive - Ratchet and Clank, Mother, etc.

How would it be gimped if there would be other controls? It wouldn't be gimped at all, it would just make Wii controls not very good while other options good. That doesn't even make sense.

the fact that they arent good by default.

As I stated before, if it is the controls that are a problem then just outsource the game to 8ing, whom have developed the Naruto fighting games on the Wii using motion controls for combos.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

That's completely different. To make a Wii port, you have to redesign the game for a different control scheme and downgrade the graphics, whereas it is a simple port to the PS3, which does take some work, but not a redesign.

Well, precisely... That's what I basically said later in my post (did you read it?). But putting it that way just comes off as petty.

Let me rephrase that. There was just as much reason to switch MH3 as there was to switch FFVII. Nintendo fans got over it (mostly). So should Sony fans get over this.
