Amazon USA lists the Slim on sale on August the 24th and I remember Kaz saying that the slim will launch on various dates but will be available everywhere by the first week of September.

That shipment is sold out, you will get the PS3 slim from early sept to mid sept if you order from amazon, people are getting that message
Maybe it's sold out but the numbers will be counted for the month of August as far as NPD is concerned. Nintendo Wii, watch out.
