By the time they discontinue the PS2, the PS4 will be on the market. The PS4 will be able to play PS1 and PS2 games, but maybe not PS3 games (because the PS3 will also be on the market).

BC will be back on the PS3. Its going to be software and sony filed the patent for it. As of right now they are not mentioning it because as long as the PS2 continues to sell well, why would they?

Its still PSone Backwards compatible, which makes it a significantly better BC than the XBOX is.. they took BC out of the DS too.. we have to move on eventually.
