Thank you for setting everyone straight. I knew that MS, all the tracking services and retail reports and such were full of shit. It is good to know that 95 out of every 100 360s sold are the arcade. I knew "Everyone" in the know was wrong claiming that the Pro was the highest selling model. So I guess the precieved value increase at the same pricepoint the highest selling sku,... err the what is it, the sku that sells only 2 or 3 out of every 100 will have no effect.

I think the numbers were reversed from that numonex. Pro was around 60 all others were 40 with elite being the lowest. (at least they were a few months ago)

This is great for microsoft, however this will not do anything to hinter the sales of the PS3.

This is the same price as the original XBOX 360 pro. The price point is what matters. This has been proven for the last 2 years that stats don't make the difference. If that was the case the PS3 80gb would of outsold the 360 pro by a long shot, considering it is a vastly superior deal as a console alone.

What this means is that microsoft have simply changed the arrangement of Skus, this is not a price drop for an entry 360. I highly doubt there have been legions of people sitting at home saying I want a 360, but i wont get the pro I need a 120gb hd, I'll just wait for the elite to drop down to 299.

This is the only move microsoft could of made... but it wont be enough... I just think that them being side by side means that the PS3 looks so much better as a purchase.

As time goes on, the ps3 will be a more and more attractive purchase. as HD tvs become adopted more in the household, Blu-ray will become the household standard. People ARE going to get HD tvs. they will go down in price. They WILL become the standard. As more adopt, blu-ray will become more and more attractive.

As video quality goes up, the use of BRD will become more and more adopted, and whether one likes it or not, the DVD is going out. Maybe not next year, but soon enough, dvds will not be used as a media for anything digital anymore. When our TVs go beyond 1080P, you'll need the 100gb BRD, or the 200gb BRD. The thing about the Blu-ray disc is that its just getting started, and unlike the DVD or the VHS or the CD, the Blu-ray disc is very easily expanded in size, meaning that it is going to be around for a long time.


Lets put this into perspective. Blu-ray will be the industry standard until hard media is no more.

Does it have a free gold membership with its online service where you can actually play all of its games against other people and download all of the demoes and trailers on it immediately for free or do you still have to pay $50.00 a year to do that?

The PS3's online service is totally free out of the box.

If the xbox360 has a great lineup for 2009 or 2010 the PS3 has a huge/hiper/superfuntastic lineup, because the lineup of exclusives for the PS3 is away greater than the few exclusives that are in development launched for the xbox360.

About the price drops it will be very bad for xbox360, because the PS3 120Gb is a much more clever deal than the ellite, bacause has the same 120GB but is as also free onlane gaming, Browser and a 3D network, Universal USB for PC components like controlers or Wheels like G25, Wireless, Bluethooth, Blu-Ray, etc...etc...

And more important, PS3 has the best game catalogue with nore than 230 exclusives (84 lauched and 75 in development).


In USA the 360 will continue to sell, because the americans his products and love microsof, bit in Europe and Japan is the check mat to xbox (Rest in Peace).

Great first we have Sony fanboys blathering on about how its over with the $299 PS3 "Slim", now we have 360 fan doing the same about the $299 "Elite". Bah. As for the quotations, the Slim isn't all that Slim and the Elite isn't so elite with composite AV cables.
