Well, December is usually GT release month (for console that is). I expect GT5 to release in December along with FFXIII to create the ultimate sales splash for PS3 this holiday.

Releasing the 2 biggest PS3 games in the same month isn't a good strategy.

So then we should just mistrust all information, even our sensory perception? O.o, let's all be nihilists!!!

Final Fantasy XIII is releasing in just one territory though. Beyond that, GT5 will probably release in early Dec, FFXIII mid-late Dec. There won't being any collisions with that strategy, IMO.

I was talking about Japan, but I forgot to mention it. Sorry 'bout that

Final Fantasy XIII will secure a good holiday for the PS3 in Japan. They should GT 5 for 2010. If you release lots of big games in a short period, sales will explode. But after that, sales will be bad because there won't be big software anymore. A consistent flow of software is the key.

Sony is lacking a big exclusive in the west, I agree. Uncharted 2 and R&C will keep the monumentum going, but most of their buyers will already own the original. GT 5 would move lots of systems there, and FF XIII would do so in spring 2010 (for both PS3 and the 360). That being said, I don't believe GT 5 will release in 2009, anywhere.

Assuming that releasing GT will cancel FFXIII's sales, I think Sony would rather sacrifice (and that's not real right, since GT is big in Japan as well) one country, than the entire world O.o

They'd both sell good. If anything, FF XIII will reduce the sales of GT5.

@CGI: indeed we are

What he say is that their priority is GT PSP and that GT PS3 should come shortly after. BTW, was it previously announced the GT PSP will come free, for a time, with the PSPGO?

If you register for the GO beforehand, and you're in Europe and PAL region I think.
