You can't go by when the console launched. How did you expect launch titles to be made if they weren't in development prior to the release of the console?

Development is done on PC anyway, plus there is plenty of work to be done prior to actually starting the programming.

Okay, it can be in development pre-launch, but five years is way too long of a development time. Honestly, no game should take five years unless it takes 500 hours to complete.

And I doubt that it was in development for two years before the PS3.

Fine 4 years...because the ps3 was announced in 2005 and it was one of teh first games announced during that conference. it's still twice as long as Forza 3 and it's probably taking longer considering it still doesn't have a release date.

Now I know what ya gonna tell me ...it was Vision GT not GT5....so what? It was the beginning of development for the game. Either way, they been working on this for 4 years+...hell I might give them 5 years because I'm pretty sure they were in begining stages after finishing Gt4.

The answer my friends is empty meaningless posturing. The sickening reality of this entire debate is that its by and large propagated by people that aren't necessarily fans of the games, or even fans of the genre. Were they either of those they would have fundamentally understood the issues long ago, and more to the point they would understand there is nothing to debate.

Here is the cold hard truth. When it comes to racing the 360 is the premiere platform. The console has four games in this genre with over a 88% score on Gamerankings compared to the PS3 which only has one, and no I don't want to hear crap excuses why these compilations are wrong. You know you are full of shit, and I know you are full of shit. So lets leave it where it lies.

So if your a true genre fan you know where you should be playing, and no genre fan can ever be satisfied with just one game. That is neurotic nonsense I don't care how good the sex is you will want more sex in the future, and more people to have sex with. What we have here is just two games that look like they will be really good, but your not actually fans are you. A real fan would actually be torn about missing one or the other.

This isn't about the games. You could give less then a damn which is actually better, or how they are different. All you care about is what they mean to your consoles, and frankly here is a little secret. The fact that we have two nearly identical games means that they cancel each other out. They don't actually effect the respective quality of the consoles one bit.

well, they still developed 2 games in 5 years. And PD said that they could launch GT5 right now if they want to which means that they didnt have to launch GT5 in 2009/10, but they wanted to be sure that the game delivers
