Just wandering, do u think the Wii which has recently inched up closer to 50% market share, is going to loose some of its market share due to price cut n PS3 slim??

and Week ending August 15 is going to be highest for Wii market share.??? 

it is 49% right now.

mab.. i really think the ps3 will double its sales and keep it that way for a while. its the best option for value this gen with the price (in USA) the same as 360 and only 50 bucks more then wii for much more.

If thiss doesnt lift sales and STAY lifted sony is doomed lol

I don't think the Wii will be able to reach 50% market share since the PS3 is now at a more mainstream pricing, i mean only $50 more than the Wii for SO much more, it is an obvious choice which one i would go with anyway if i did not already own a PS3!

I doubt it'll reach 50% market share ever as of now.
The PS3's sales will rise significally, and stay quite high for a long period, even after holiday considering there is some good releases Q1 and probably Q2 aswell for PS3 (GoW 3, GT5 (?), FF13 etc.) Then there's X360 great lineup for the holiday and 2010 aswell. The HD Twins will most likely combined outsell Wii for a LONG time.

I stand by my 2007 prediction that the wii will never reach 50% market share.

I think it will hamper it quite a bit and put it down to 46 or 47 percent.  I actually believe that the wii's time of total domination is coming to a close.

Not so sure. Don't the PS3 and 360 sales normally cannibalize each other? If Sony goes high Microsoft goes low and vice versa while the Wii still destroys everything?

Of course we also know Nintendo is losing it's Wii momentum so I'm not sure if Wii Fit + or NSMBW will do enough to bring in enough new purchasers as it's another Mario game and an upgrade to an already existing title. Sequels are good to make money but difficult for bringing in new customers as it mostly appeals to customers whom have purchased previous iterations of the software.

Either way I don't know but unlike before I believe there is a possibility the Wii may not reach 50%. This could be the most even marketshare gen ever.
