41k+ lead and 360 beating PS3 in Japan!

I am going to cherish this moment, because it will probably be one of the last for a good year, if not forever, that MS will be able to grab such a big lead for a week.

I think this was more proof then anything if anyone ever doubted it; that price was the major factor the PS3 struggled for so long. Now that the price is the same as the 360's (if your not counting the arcade of course) things are going to be a lot different from here on out.

Take heart - the same thing happened last year when Sony dropped their price by $100. It's mid August, Microsoft likes to grab attention close to the holidays. Sony's sales will skyrocket for a few months, and then MS will come raging back for Christmas.

didnt sony simply eliminate a SKU and keep entry price the same at $399 last year? Thats not a price cut thats adding value to the price of the system by making it an 80GB for $399.

People are underestimating big time what the sub $300 playstation 3 will do worldwide. big time.

I think that was later. The PS3 entered last year with $500 still being it's lowest price point, I thought.

Wow, great numbers for 360. Even outselling PS3 in it's own territory :0

I'm sure Microsoft has many plans to combat the slim. I'm confident 360 will win Christmas again this year.

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

How much is a ps3 in canada with the price cut?

It is more a case that demand is drying up than stock - people have been holding back on buying a PS3 with all the PS3 slim rumours etc. Sales will be up significantly this week so that will show that it isn't a stock issue as such.

significantly? How significant? Based on early data would it be higher than 100k?

There, you heard it from ioi.

Now be quiet.

did i go back in time before august 18?

i don't expect ps3 to be way up next week, the slim just announced, people are going to hold for just that, it may get up abit but because price cut some people that won't wait for the slim.

but not a big boost until mid september.

OMG, the Wii is up in Japan, Iwata was right about WSR's long hardware legs!!!

Aren't we forgetting about a little game called MH3, the Black Wii and the HW bundles? Not to mention it was Obon this week in Japan and hence all systems were up. It was definitely not WSR on it's own, in fact I'd say it was the least responsible for this boost.

MH3 and Black Wii caused a huge sales increase two weeks ago, but last week, the effect started to go away as quickly as it came.

Just look at the graphs. I totally expected 20k sales again, as it was pre-MH3.

I have afeeling that is what u wish

Trestres does alot, he puts things at a negative perspective and puts out the worst scenerio possible for his favorite console so that he wont be dissapointed with the results.
