whats with all the hate on ps3 slim?

the funniest part of that article for me was the reference to the D&D player being attacked with a hammer.
Is that wrong?

same hate the orgional ps3 had, they're just shifting it over to the slim, they love it really they just have a hard time showing it.

The article has a point.... they are saying it is a tombstone to the once all conquering brand power, not to the console and to sony. That is true, to say it isnt is ignoring reality and the current state of play.

No Brandpower will help a company that stop listening to its consumer. The arrogance is what made Nintendo fall from grace and the Sony coming into this Gen was blind both to history and the outcry of its consumers.

That being said I don't expect Sony to suddenly bow out and die like the article implies, just because they've dug their own grave doesn't mean they have to lie in it.

They've invested far too much money and effort into the Playstation brand to pull out now, especially when the PS3 is finally starting to break even. How did the saying goes? When you've hit rock-bottom, the only way to go is up?

@binary

why would 5% people with a more superior PS3 & better looking one buy the slim?

please explain

5% more superior?

Here I was thinking the new PS3 came with 40 more GB then the older version of the same price, uses MUCH less power (I think, more then 1/3), and is much thinner...

Never heard reports of it being more power, the only thing that comes close are 'reports' (a.k.a. heresay, whether it is true or not, time and good sources will tell) is that the Blu-ray player/reader is of slightly less quality. Considering there are already problems with the current PS3 lazer reader, I somehow doubt that.

Don't get me wrong, the two versions are pretty much the same, but saying 5% more power is pulling BS out of your arse.

Lol @ all these junk articles popping up left and right. These guys obviously just want hits on their websites. What better way than to jump on the slim hatewagon since it's the newest thing in the gaming news. Hate always brings more hits than praise.

pretty much, im far from a sony fanboy, but i personally know this has convinced me into buying one (from the US anyway)

i dont think this is some magic for cure for sony, but i think this will help them catch up... their software is already selling well, this will help it, and of course you can't pirate sony stuff atm (ironic considering it was hardest to pirate Nintendo last gen and easy to pirate ps2, now it is the other way around) considering the format and complexity of the ps3

LMAO. Everything Tycho writes is so hilariously overwrought.

Sony's always been making slim models of their Playstations so does this article refer to back then as well?
