God Of War Pack Crashes This Year's Holiday Party?

We all know that God of War III won't be ready to go until March of next year, so we've kinda put it on the back burner and turned our attention to the fourth-quarter gems of 2009.

However, it appears that Sony may be preparing a little surprise for all PlayStation 3 owners out there, especially those who were disappointed that GoWIII didn't make it this year. A reader has turned us onto MarkPlayStation's Twitter page; this guy is supposedly a manager for Sony Mexico. And if the translation is correct, there's a very special package heading our way in December: this package will consist of both God of War and God of War II, plus a playable demo of God of War III. Yes, it's a Blu-Ray disc for the PS3 and it's very big news if true. The only bizarre part about this is that Sony hasn't announced it yet, and as this franchise has always been more popular in the eyes of Western gamers, it seems strange that Sony would announce this at the Tokyo Game Show next month. Maybe they don't consider it big enough for a show unveiling; maybe we'll just suddenly see the press release in our inboxes. Who knows?

But we do remember a survey earlier this year that asked gamers what they thought about revamped GoW titles...if we remember correctly. It's no surprise that fans of the series would love to be able to replay the first two stellar installments on the PS3, and that GoWIII demo is even further incentive. We'll see what we can dig up but in the meantime, keep your eyes and ears peeled...

Pretty much. They'll be optimized as Ps3 titles and no Ps2.

It would be a great way to introduce new gamers to the series and posibly boost sales for the third installment.

If they do revamp/optimize the games for PS3, then they better make God of War III even more awesome than it already is (graphically I mean).

(What I mean by that is that God of War and God of War II already look so good. I'm complimenting both games.)
