Forums - Sony - Was the E3 2009 Trailer for GT5 CGI?

===========================================================

Please say if you:

1. Still think that the trailer is CGI

2. Thought the trailer was CGI, but now think it's not.

3. Always believed the trailer wasn't CGI

===========================================================

I had some doubts and reservations in the beginning, so I wasn't totally without any mistrust from the beginning.

I believe it's some CGI, and some of it isn't. Since when you see the car driving in the desert, then the camera kinda zooms out and points a bit into the sky, that is not the same as the gameplay shown in the second one. Where the camera is mainly in one position, just changing angle and zooming, or the moving camera in front of car.. But I could be wrong ofc :P

Since I know nothing how they actually do :P

its CGI in the parts where the people and town and all that, but it had gameplay.

If you watch the video from the PSN in 1080p you can tell that its not CGI, there was only one part that i saw that looked better then normal stuff. That was the video at 57secs.

I thought the trailer was in-engine pre-rendered (maybe AA and Res tweaked, nothing more), but now I don't think so. I can spot a lot of improvements compared to the prologue version.

None of that was gameplay.

And I really doubt that the movie was taken using the ingame engine.

This is invisible text!

Polyphony Digital don't do CGI, end of. The E3 trailer was touched up replay mode or what not but none the less in engine. Even looking at those shitty off screen videos the game looks amazing. Call me what you want but this is easily the best looking racing game on consoles.

Edit - Just so you know PD have NEVER done CGI. Even GT HD was GT4 upscaled and they got it in the neck for that. Also when Yamachi was asked if the E3 trailer was CGI he was confused such a stupid question was askes and said no.
