I don't think this is a silver. Cables's position in pics 1 and 4 looks the same, and 4 is definitely the black console.
1 and 2 are very probably the same, with some strong direct light falling on the ps3. Some of the earlier Engadged photos had that feel since they were taken on a roof in the middle of a summer day, matte made it look silverish.

edit: took too long comparing and looking for evidence, apparently
