Yeah, I noticed the message and raised my Slim PS3 predictions due to it :D
The only occasion I've seen this message on videogame stuff was until some months ago on both Wii and Wii Fit.
I don't buy new models right away. I think people are foolish for buying the slim right away. Personally, I'm waiting for the bugs and other problems to be fixed before a purchase. I never had a problem with Xbox, but I've always had problems with Sony. I even waited this generation to buy a 360. Never with Nintendo though ;)
*waits to get 50 replies on how I'm defending the 360 after gamescon*
Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"
Wow, people are trying so hard to get the slim. I see some nice first week sales that will boost PS3 sales weekly!!!
TO GOD BE THE GLORY

Maybe they should, if peopel cant buy something demand grows (aka the wii)

@leo-j
only if media catch up & hype it as follows
"OMG PS3 slim sold out everywhere, most wanted product"
if thas the effect GOOD, if not then BAD
I think it'll provide a better long term sale than a huge first month boost, just my opinion.

I remember the PS2 slim had shortages at launch, it was everywhere. Bit it did make the Xbox outsell the PS2 in America.
I was on amazon not that long ago and it stated 5 per household but does say one now, here's hoping this is the boost the console needed for the sales to become substantial again
