Forums - Sales - I thought of a big contributing factor to 360 vs ps3 sales....

People who are into gaming enough to play games online will also already be quite opinionated about what console they want and I'm not sure the difference in the offerings of xbl and psn matter that much to be honest.
There are other factors that account for a lot more sales I think.

Around the Network

Yeah, theres a significant effect.

1. If they go online, most people want to play with their friends not random people over the internet.

2. If you pay $50 a year, you want to improve your experience so you tell your friends to get Xbox Live so you can play with them since it then makes your experience better.

Sometimes I wonder if Live is successful because of #2 for the same reason WoW is successful. Maybe WoW couldn't have been as big if it was free because there isn't the same incentive in getting your friends to play too.

Tease.
