Forums - Sony - Did Activision's threats trigger the price drop?

Do you guys think that Sony dropped the price because of that asshole Kotick putting pressure on them and threatning them or was it purely their own decision?

Around the Network

No, Microsoft solidly in second place triggered Sony's actions. Sony probably wanted to do slim in year 5 not now.

No activision though needs a kick to the groin for the recent moves and statements they have made.

No, it was already in the works.

Hell no.

Around the Network

I seriously doubt it. From the earlier pics slim was already in the works and Sony already knew they had to drop price - they dropped when they were ready with new, cheaper HW.

Stringer's response also made it clear any price cut would be when he felt Sony was ready for it, not because another company wanted it.

Still, no doubt 'ole Bobby is convinced they dropped the price 'cause they're so scared of Activision.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

No its Microsofts 2nd place.

I doubt Sony wanted to release a slim in year 3 of the 10 year cycle.  This uses a card that I don't think they really wanted to play until year 5 or more...

If Sony was where Microsoft is in terms of world-wide total sales do you honestly think a slim would have been released?
