Forums - Gaming - 2009 is one of the worst years in gaming in recent years.

Most of the potentially good games have yet to come out. Off the top of my head Uncharted 2, Modern Warfare 2, Assasins Creed 2, GT5/GT-PSP (potentialy), Forza 3, Halo: ODST, L4D2. So far we've had some good games like inFamous, Prototype, Killzone 2, so this year isn't especially bad.

Correction : If you own a 360 and a PS3, it is not that bad.

So for PS3/PSP and 360 owners the year has been "not bad"

I am a Wii only owner nd have bought more games this year than I ever have, the only thing missing from this year has been a big-name game, but that has now changed with WSR, and NSMB.Wii is later too (though I am only planning on buying WSR) Oh, and MH3 but that is only big-name in Japan.

yeah but just personally, not being a owner of a ps3 has not allowed me a few games. and all the games just seem to be shooters!

Really? What games have you bought? I've only bought House of the Dead Overkill and Conduit so far for Wii this year. I have to admit, I've been a bit lax in following the latest Wii releases.

Rune Factory Frontier and Little King's Story are my favourite games this generation. So I am happy. Final Fantasy 4: AY is also loads of fun, something I waited for for a long time too. It is better than the original FF4. Wii Sports Resort, Scribblenauts, and Professor Layton 2 are also future titles of mine this year.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I bought more than 30 Xbox 360/PS3 games (not including Xbla/PSN games) I don't know what you are talking about =/.

This year is maybe not that good as 2007 or 2008 but the next four months will bring so many games I will for sure not feel like you.

Well in truth many have been games that were released before 2009.... but there are a number of games release in 2009 I will almost certainly be buying eventually too (I am skint, I buy very few games close to release)

This year I bought:
Okami
Deadly Creatures (2009 release)
Geometry Wars:Galaxies
Sim City Creator
Tiger Woods '10 (2009)
The Conduit (2009)

And downloadable:
LoZ:Majora's Mask (discountable as it's VC I suppose)
Dr.Mario
World of Goo
Art Style: Orbient
Bomberman Blast
Swords & Soldiers (2009 release)

-----

So so far only 4 that were actually released in 2009.... but of 2009s releases so far I will certainly be getting these:
Wii Sports Resort
Little Kings Story
Pikmin 2
Grand Slam Tennis/Virtua Tennis (still haven't decided but it is leaning towrards Grand Slam)

And likely:
Blast Works
Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars

Possible:
Madworld
(may be some others I have forgotten)
----

And future 2009 releases that I can think of, F1 2009 is a certain buy, as is Metroid Prime Trilogy... Red Steel 2 was a likely, but now it has moved to 2010...While NSMB is a possible. Then Wiiware may add some more too, but I can't be certain of course.

So when all is said and done, at least 10 games that released in 2009 will be bought by me, possibly 14. And if I had more disposable income then that would increase wuite a bit.... I think I should perhaps start selling games back once I have played them, but I like to keep most of my games.

With all the games that have been postponed, 2010 will be a blast for sure.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Punch out, Little King story, Tigger Woods (Wii version) --> top notch games

Grand Slam Tennis, Wii sports Resort -> well recieved and the best in their genre.

And then there was madworld and as you said HotDO and Conduit.

That's for what is out already.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

I get the feeling this year is kind of a re-load year. A lot of people released games in 07/08 and it looks like a lot more will release in 2010 but 2009 hasn't been quite as massive as the previous couple.
