There doesn't seem to be any thread here for the NFL, the season is starting pretty soon, and I promised allaboutthegame85 I'd make one so here it is.
Vick just signed with the Eagles, though if he does decent I'd suspect the Eagles would try to use him as trade bait. I'm not exactly sure how much help he'll be considering they already have a McNabb and there's bound to be continued controversy over him being able to make a living playing football. Philidelphia's also a real tough city to play in - if McNabb goes through a bad stretch like he has in past seasons I could easily see the fans turning on him and trying to get Vick in as the starter. I really just don't get this move at all.
Pats probably have to be the pre-season favorites to win it all - I really can't think of any team that will be able to beat them if Brady is healthy. Maybe Pittsburgh again, but I think Brady will be able to hold up. There's no team in LA for me to be a homer, so I can't pick them to go all the way.
The most interesting storyline for me this season definitely has to be the Colts. I've always been a pretty big fan of Manning and I'd just really like to see how the team does after so much turnover in one offseason. I'm sure Peyton will do well, but this is the first time in a while that I can't confidently say I see the Colts in the playoffs. Whatever happens, at least they have the better and cheaper Manning.
And no more Madden - I'll miss his rather obvious and uninsightful insight, though. At least we all still have tough actin' Tinactin.
Whatever it takes, bring back NFL 2K.
