Forums - Gaming - VGCHARTZ DECIDES: The Most Important Men to the Gaming Industry (Part 1)

UPDATE: THIS THREAD IS FINISHED.
Voting has now COMMENCED
http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=83440

I was inspired to create this thread by the 10 Men Who Changed the Gaming Industry Forever thread.

Long story short, someone did a writup for their blog discussing who they think to be the ten most important men to the gaming industry (as evidenced by their numbering scheme).

Naturally, given their rather odd list and even odder ordering scheme, much rioting ensued. Virtually nobody was happy with the list, and many seemed downright offended. A number of incredibly important developers (and other industry giants) were left out, while others simply were given too much/too little recognition.

As a result, I decided... We'll do our own list. First, we're going to compile a complete list of all men (and any important women) worthy of being among the "most important" to the gaming industry. Developers, engineers, whatever! If they've been important to the gaming industry, we want them! Make suggestions of who you think belongs, and please, don't submit a list fifteen people long. Just name a few people that YOU personally think are worthy. After a sufficiently long list (allowing an as-of-yet undetermined amount of days) is compiled, I will begin part 2.

EDITED AND CHANGED!
Part 2 will now be a VOTING SEQUENCE. Each member will select their top ten favourite developers/engineers/composers/artists/designers, and order them from favourite to least. Your votes will count as fifteen points for #1, twelve for #2, ten for #3, eight for #4, six for five, five for six, four for seven, three for eight, two for nine, and one point for your number ten slot. I will research ALL people to be certain that they belong on the list. If you submit someone that's, for instance, only worked on two or three games, and those games weren't HUGE GIGANTIC AAA GAME-OF-THE-YEAR MULTIPLAT CHANGE-THE-WORLD LET'S-MAKE-A-MOVIE-ABOUT-IT-QUICK! hits, then I will disqualify said person. Additionally, nobody gives a crap about the guy that made Game.com, nor about the president of Tiger Electronics. Their impact on the overall gaming world is near zero. Thus said, I will be trimming down the list of nominated people to a manageable list, THEN we'll vote.

After all voting is completed, I will select the top 20-30 (likely 25, unless I decide there aren't enough/are too many important names, in which case I'll mold the number to fit the appropriate amount), then I will do a write-up on each one and explain why they deserve their spot on the list.

And from there on, if we get an appropriate amount of participation, this list will be the Definitive List of the Most Important Men to the Gaming Industry!

Enough explaining! Who do you think are the most important men (and women) to the gaming industry?
