It seems that MS wont be able to counter a PS3 price cut with a price cut of their own, contrary to what some MS fans have been telling me.

Not good at all. The supply of £159 Pro's from Amazon has dried up as well leaving only the £159 Arcade or the £219 elite for Xmas?!
I cannot see this as being true. If this happens as well as the PS3 pricedrop Microsoft will be handing Sony the UK on a silver platter. Before anyone attacks me with mean words I am talking about the HD consoles for we all know EU = Nintendomination.
If true though I'm sure tomorrow is going to be interesting to say the least.
Sales boost before September 1st maybe.
starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS
microsoft should not have dropped so low in the 1st place.
instead they should have gotten rid of the pro model. which i think they will do now.
the low price will be hurting them especially on hardrive models.
a £159 is a good price point that should be managable for microsoft they will still be loosing on it but not that much.
...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

Really? must be the first time an increase in price will increase the sales |
People who want a Xbox 360 arcade get it before the price increase and that can make a sales boost?
That took guts... Though, seriously guys. If the Xbox 360 outsells the PS3 anyway with a price increase you'll never hear the end of it. (U.K. only)
Tease.
From MCVUK:
"However, a closer inspection of the documentation sent to retailers seems to suggest that the Xbox 360 Arcade listing is a placeholder for an as-of-yet unspecified SKU. Whether that’s an enhanced Arcade SKU or a reduced RRP Elite – or even both – is yet to be seen."
It may be a different model.
