Why did that computer come with Windows 3.1? Judging from those specs, that computer is more than capable of running Windows XP.
i dunt even remember but its old apple computer with the square floppy disks, with the green monitor. my first comp that was purchased was sony vaio 333mhz with windows 95.
My first computer was a Radio Shack TRS-80 Color Computer 2. Favorite games were Dungeons of Daggorath and Starblaze.

A company called Tom Mix software used to make clone games for the system, something I doubt anyone could get away with these days, this was my favorite from them:

I used to greatly look forward to getting this related magazine in the mail:

and this adventure game newsletter:

My 2nd computer was a Commodore 64. (I LOVED playing Pool of Radiance and Curse of the Azure Bonds on that).
My first IBM compatible PC was a white box 486/66. I miss the "Turbo" button, lol!
I did also use 286 and 386 equipment though later to run PCBoard (a dial-up BBS software).

My grammar school had one of those, and I mean literally one. That was the first computer I ever used.

The IBM PCJr!
I have fond memories of that piece of junk, that's where my love of DOS came from.![]()
I don't remember which model we had, probably the cheaper of the two, so I guess these would be the specs:
8088 4.77 MHz CPU
64K Memory
5.25 Floppy Drive
Two cartridge slots
VGA graphics (Video Gate Array, not the VGA you're thinking of)
Color Computer 1, 4kb of ram and I believe about 2mhz(maybe?)
had that for about a week then I got
Color Computer 3, 128kb ram, but you could expand it by; if you believe this; to solder the memory chip on manually. There was no expansion slot. Stared using a cassette storage system then a year later bought a 5.4 floppy disk drive. Man those were the days :)

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
My first was an Exidy Sorcerer. I sold it on eBay last year for like $350, with loads of extras, actually -- I kept it that long (like 30 years).
Some folks (especially in Europe) are nuts to collect old PCs -- the Sorcerer in particular is a rarity, as well as any North American software, since it only sold like 70K units in NA, and most of them are long gone.
I want to say the processor was about 2 MHz, and it was on the S-100 motherboard chipset, but I don't remember the details. I moved on to the original IBM PC (4.77 MHz 8088.. mine had 320K RAM) a couple years after.
The Sorcerer had some sweet graphics for the time. ;)

That was my best friend's second computer. Ancient Art of War on that thing was great fun. I remember Charlie Chaplin being the mascot. Lol
