Forums - Nintendo - Pachter: Core Wii audience only want Nintendo games

We saw that in Japan in the last two weeks with MH3. Anyway this guy doesnt have any credibility remaining since a long time...

I would like to comment but when i check the credibility meter for Pachter, wel it's apparantly on minus 500. So i can't care.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

What are you talking about his credibility meter is over 9000 just like our total users online.

The problem is 3rd parties on the Wii suck balls. I'm a *hardcore* Wii owner and i only own Ninty games... and red steel.

if what SHUMP says is true we can conclude that there are about 100,000 core wii owners. This seems about right.

Anyway, confirmed AAA titles?

First, What definition of AAA are we talking about?

I would consider Silent Hill, Red Steel 2, Monster Hunter 3, Muramasa, Tales of Graces, and The Crystal Bearers to be AAA third party games. Some of them might not be able to get the 90+ rating on metacritic for it however. Then again, if we go by the metacritic definition, Resident Evil 5 wasn't a AAA title.

Out of those, I'd probably consider Red Steel 2 (about 80% sure), The Crystal Bearers (about 70%), and MH3 as AAA titles. When it comes to budget and effort, they probably are the biggest. Ratings, I'm not sure what they will get.

No More Heroes 2, regardless of score, will be a definite AAA Bazooka Bomb must-buy to me.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I actually think that's a valid notion. But I don't think it's Nintendo or the gamer's fault haha. I don't think 3rd parties are doing enough legitimately to compete. Really it is only recently with Monster Hunter 3 have we seen a 3rd party throw some legitimate competition.

Sure there have been attempts but they've either missed one of 2 things: strong quality performance or lack of faith which was shown with lack of marketing. And even worse on the multiplatform side where developers have no problem with even giving the appearance that the Wii version is weak.

The core Nintendo lineup is a difficult thing to compete with. I would almost certainly bet that some of MS and Sony's franchises couldn't compete with them and they are lucky they don't have too. But with a console that has well over a 50 million userbase, you have to compete and 3rd parties have not been doing that. They are promising stuff like that but not delivering that. And that's why the core gamers are choosing Nintendo who has proven to deliver for years over these 3rd parties who have yet to do it.

So I guess it's a double edge sword when you look at it, but this is how I view it. Nintendo games are succeeding with the core for obvious reasons and 3rd party core games aren't for the exact opposite. I'm proud though to see attempts like MH3 which have shown when you compete you get rewarded. Kudos to Capcom.  3rd parties just have to understand it isn't a given especially when you are competing with Nintendo and apathy will only get those core gamers pissed at you.  They have to start trying to give the same quality Nintendo does with the same marketing and attention.  Until then they can expect most of the core gamers to give them the cold shoulder and instead by the Mario, Zelda, and Metroid titles over the others.

Maybe, we have soon Wii Fps,Mario of War and ZeldaZone?

Sales speak from themselves. But Conduit was BAD game.It ain't anything that Fps fans must own.
Even most of Wii users must have played Fps games on Ps2 or Pc..(I HOPE)
And if you compare Conduit to Fps games of Ps2 (Red Faction etc) it ain't so diffrent.
And if you have played Half Life or Counter Strike or even new games like Cod 4 on Pc...

But, if they start make more games like Madworld...We will see what the truth about Wii:s core gamers really is.But when?I can't name but No more heroes 2.

Red Steel 2, Silent Hill:Shattered memories,TMNT Smash Up,etc I could name more if you want.

I don't know have I missed something but why people bring up Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles?

None of those are confirmed.

And res 5 wasnt AAA title.

And most of those titles will be 99% medicore titles.I always end up saying same stuff for same games that they bring up..graah.

I'm talking about titles that you know will be good.Above 85 metacritic at least.

So anything below a 85% on Metacritic is considered mediocre? Your standards are probably too high.

on-topic: I wouldn't be surprised if Pachter was drunk while doing any analysis.
