Forums - Sony - Major Supermarket Cuts PS3 Price in UK.

Asda, the second biggest and one of the most popular supermarkets in the UK has cut the price of the 80GB PlayStation 3, offering the console and 2 selected games for just £250. The games that are up for grabs are also very good; you can get either LittleBigPlanet & Ghostbusters, Killzone 2 & Resistance 2 or Terminator & InFamous.

Many people are also claiming that some branches of the supermaket are offering 3 games for the same price, although the stock is running dry as some branches have completely ran out of PlayStation 3 stock. So for those who don't have a PS3, what are you waiting for?

This price cut again suggests that a new PS3 SKU or price cut will be announced at GamesCom on August 18.

It was just a question of time before it happens, since sevareal retailers from Portugal, Spain anf France drop ps3 to 299, 99 Euros.

Exciting stuff. Can't wait for Gamescom!

I think this is just to clear out stock, we know some UK retailers are running dry, but obviously Asda have a few too many

That LittleBigPlanet and Ghostbusters bundle sounds appealing....

Shame I don't have the money to spare at the moment.

I did search but guess ur thread had a different name, so close this one.

NA desperately needs some price cut like this. I have no doubt that PS3 can widen the Xbox360 gap in Japan and overtake Xbox in Others, in these territories its just a matter of when.. But in NA, it's a whole different story.
