Forums - Gaming - what past game system do u think wasnt given its proper due ?

Nintendo 64. I think that system should of one the console war but because of the "Get N or Get Out" kind of caused bad attention to parents. I think it had the best software of its time but because the playstation had games like final fantasy and how the games run on cds instead of cartridges which were twice as expensive to develop.

Dreamcast.

@tehsage

I had a gamecube aswell, and I respectfully disagree, although I loved my Gamecube, it did not have the best library last gen. No way. =/ PS2 = The greatest console library last gen hands down... maybe even of all time.

Last gen specifics:

GCN games I owned - 35

PS2 games I owned - 7

Xbox games I owned - 4

Dreamcast games I owned - 4

yeah, I believe it had the best library.

Care to list them? It doesn't really count as having the best library if there are a lot of multiplatform releases on your list. Normally I wouldn't ask this, but either you sold most of these games you owned, or your gaming collection is wrong.

I just want to keep my answer separate. I'm going to go against the grain and say the Dreamcast. Shame on all of you for forgetting that one.

Easily the Saturn. Sega made soooo many great games on that system.

Okay, if we go by exclusive titles:

GCN - 24

PS2 - 6

xbox - 3

Dreamcast - 2

Last gen, the GCN had the best library.

At least in my opinion...

Game Gear. Ignore the battery thing and it was great. A bright 'coloured' screen, no 2 crappy bit colours like the Game Boy. It has some great games as well. Even had a TV attachement.

Hmm, pie.

Dreamcast no doubt, it could and should have been something much more.

The Gamecube.

I never understood why it didn't sell....it had by far the best library last gen.

I have to disagree with you, the one that was never given it's proper due was indeed the DreamCast, for heaven sake people forget it even came out last generation, in fact in most talks about last generation the dreamcast isn't even mentioned, it's always PS2, NGC, xbox, hell they go as far as even saying that it was the PS2 that launched the 6th console generation, but in reality it was the DreamCast not the PS2 that launched it.

Also, the games argument in general is subjective, so if you say that it it was the best library last gen the please specify that it's just your opinion as it is not fact, one however can say that in general the PS2 had the best library only because it had the most games of any console, so it covered allot of genres and tastes, but even then one can only say it's their opinion.

xbox it had alot of great games
