Given the seniority of his position in the company and the fact, already mentioned, that Yamauchi is the third richest man in japan, I imagine that Miyamoto is easily a multimillionaire, regardless of whether his ongoing salary is relatively humble or not.

Stock options maybe?

I'd say so.

If he didnt make enough money by now with his talent that his family can live very well for all eternity, then, even though some of you say that gives respect, he is really stupid.

Yeah, I don't see how that couldn't be the case, even if he has a modest salary.

I'm sure he's very well taken care of. (Sort of like Steve Jobs and his $1 salary. It's not like Jobs is paying his medical bills with that.) He basically has Nintendo at his disposal if he needs it, but he's most interested in continuing to drive videogames forward and "make people smile" with games as he often talks about.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

I think this is definitely realistic.

Spoken like a typical North American

First, I'm sure he's incredibly well-off.  Someone like Iwata, I'm sure, makes a very pretty penny.  Second, valuing having fun and thesimple things in life over mansions and huge cars is not stupid.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

There have to be some crazy stock options though.

1) Please no insults - I am not American

2) Please try some reading comprehension - I am not talking about mansions and huge cars

The guy is definitely never going to be living on the streets.

From my brief experience in Japan, Miyamoto may actually be able to get to work faster on a bicycle than a car... plus it's healthier.
