Kaz Hirai? J. Allard? Ted Price? No Sid Meier in sight? Terrible fucking list.

Anyway, my top 10 would be:

1-10. Gabe Newell (he's that fat)

I hope you're happy... I nearly died from choking on water :(

Well, then I'm nearly happy!

What's nearly happy? I mean happy is an emotion, so you're either happy or you're not. You could be happy for a while only to be dissapointed at the climatic moment of my not-death in which case you've expirience a let-down and are not happy.

What you say is technically true, but as I'm an optimist, I choose to think of this as being "nearly happy."

Bravo my friend, cheers to being nearly happy while me being the cynical bastard that I am, expect my next venture into beverage drinking to end in my more permanent death. Life is fair sometimes :)

This guys is insaine about the things he said about Miyamoto.

Its funny to see how people think of him as a god or something like that.

I remember a guy that called me an idiot because I didnt worship him. xD, it sounded like some religious guys I had arguments with.

lol

Never said he was a god or he should be worshiped.

Just saying hes the number 1 person in video game history. Theres a reason he was the first person ever inducted into the video game hall of fame. There really is no debate about it.

Now this IS a list

Since 1998, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has annually inducted into its "Hall of Fame" video game developers that have made revolutionary and innovative achievements in the computer and video game industry.

Woo! Go Ted Price! Though even with as close as ND and Insomniac are, I'm pretty sure that Jak was done by ND.

EDIT: Just to clarify though, this is a pretty terrible list. I figured that out when they said that Sony was profitable and had Ken as numbah one. And as much as I love Insomniac, they really haven't done much to change the industry. They just make some seriously awesome games!

Ken kutaragi is nothing but a THIEF.

He worked with nintendo, stole their software and hardware ideas and then ran to sony like a scalded dog with all the ideas he had poached.

Having him as number 1 on this list is an insult to the gaming industry.

I really don't think it's in any specific order...

He was just listing the 10 dudes.

I few wierd lines like Jak and Daxter made by Inzomniac but other than that, it was atleast an interesting read.

What? how are the people I listed funny? I don't get it. Do I need to make a list of reasons why? The entirety of the gaming world is not just the Wii, you really should get that into your head. Sales are not everything. Some of the most influential books and paintings were not the most profitable, and that certainly is true for gaming as well.

I'm not saying the wii or nintendo do not have the quality and influence as well, because they do, I'm just saying that because something didn't make that much money doesn't mean it isn't important.

Deus Ex (Warren Spector) For instance, will remain one of the most influential games of all time regardless of how well it sold. There is still nothing on the market today that is anything like it.

I would add Richard Garriot too for same reason as Warren Spector. Theres no other game that is as detailed as most of games in ultima serie.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultima_VII

"The gameworld is renowned for its interactivity: virtually everything not nailed to the ground can be moved, taken, or interacted with in some fashion. It is possible, for instance, to bake bread, to forge weapons, to milk cows, to play musical instruments, and even to change a baby's swaddling. The Avatar and his companions will complain of hunger pains and severe thirst, and will even die if these matters are not attended to properly. If they come across a disgusting or gruesome scene, they may groan and vomit."

+ Game is highly unlinear + etc.

Full map: http://ian-albert.com/misc/gamemaps/ultima7/full/u7-map-sm.jpg

Oh, and oblivions radiant AI is crap compared to ultima 7, where people work, eat, spend free time and sleep in their day cycle.

(Mind you that game run in 8MB)

Can you name even one game that has even those? Nope, even elder scrolls games can't compete with it.

Kutaragi before Miyamoto

Were they smoking crack?

Atleast they weren't doing shrooms.

Like another person..

When he made super mario

OH SNAP

anyways, Kutaragi is soooo more important. It's not even up for debate. He made video games more than a kids toy.

Check out my game about moles ^
