why is everyone here boasting about the graphics.
they look okay nothing new actually. and you gotta realise its EA who made that trailer they touch on the graphics in the trailer alot and the end game wont be as good.

edit : why are only japanese games that make human animations realistic? i never seen animations done right except in japanese games.

Western games feel like Pixar animations you know the bouncy ones that move alot when talking.

Incorrect. This is running on the id Tech 5 engine, do some research. It is the most advanced engine to date and the game will look as good if not better than that on a high end PC.

A lot of the smudging and blurring around characters was clearly from the xbox360 version.

considering the Lost Planet 2 thing(people were saying after first gameplay videos that it runs on uber buffed pc and it was xbox 360 version actually) i would say that those gameplay fragments were from pc version.

we all saw Crysis on buffed pcs it looks amazing - no console will be able to match Crysis maxed out level graphics. Crysis 3 engine demo on ps360(so no actual gameplay of the final game) looked worse than first Crysis on medium level graphics, and it still had really bad popup(barrels magically show up 5 meters before you etc.). Crysis was released 2 years ago and Rage will be released next year - that level of graphics showed in this trailer IS possible on pcs.

Looks sweet...but for some reason it doesnt interest me slightly. Looks like a game that will want you to sink 20-30 hours in its sandbox.

I hate that for FPS games...Just point me to the next gunfight please, don't bother me with side missions and backtracking.

i agree it MIGHT end up like FarCry (Boring) or Fallout 3 (Fun)

i just hope its more unique than both, or it will be " been here done that " all over again/

There is something about ID games I didn't like since Quake 2.

Doom 3 was a corridor rail shooter to me with pretty graphics and Quake 4 gave me a headache. Their games seem to lack focus and are all voer the place...and this looks no different.

the engine featured 20 GB of texture data (using a more advanced MegaTexture approach called Virtual Texturing,[4] which supports textures with resolutions up to 128000x128000 pixels), and a completely dynamically changeable world. This technique allows the engine to automatically stream textures into memory as needed, meaning that the developer need not concern themselves with memory restraints or texture limits. This has the advantage of simplifying the creation of content, by eliminating the need to adapt content for different platforms. The engine automatically optimizes resources for cross-platform development, making it possible to render the same models on different platforms, while only creating them for one platform, further simplifying cross-platform development.[5]

just some more from it.

Halo 3 was more of a rail shooter than doom 3, come on.

it probably was back in 2007....

This game doesn't even touch MGS4 which still reigns as the graphical console king.
