JUG said: I can definitely see someone liking Wii Sports Resort this much. It definitely deserves a lot of praise. Comparisons to games like Halo don't really make sense though. It's like comparing two different media such as films and literature. Calling them both video games is misleading since they're so very different and each is brilliant on entirely different planes. |
exactly, thank you.
Both of these are good things, they're just different things.
Halo 3 is an introduction to the video game world that is a real full fleshed video game, although a very shallow one.
Wii Sports Resort is not a video game, I mean it is one by definition but not by soul or heart, its a collection of interactions that you perform with your TV, but it is not video game in the conventional sense. It's just like wii fit, it's not a game, its just a virtual world where you can do some light hearted, fun, enjoyable things.
People dont need to hate on people saying its not a video game, because it simply isnt. You wouldnt call those movie trivia things where you use the TV a video game, and wii sports is no different.
