Oh of course. Playing "several hours" of those games allows you to make sweeping judgments about every Sonic game released this gen.  How silly of me not to realize that.

Put several hours into quotes as to question its validity, because of course, no one could have played several hours of a game. Preposterous. Well, let's see. Most people agree that Sonic Unleashed and Secret Rings are 2 of the best Sonic games this gen (not counting the 2D ones on downloadable services), so I would assume that the rest of the Sonic games this gen wouldn't be as good as those 2. I was not that impressed with either. I've played and enjoyed the old Sonic games on the Genesis, and some of the 3D games on the Genesis. Heck, I even enjoyed Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the Gamecube. But the ones today clearly show a lack of development talent.

Anywho, don't even quote me, because you clearly don't know anything about me and just choose to make assumptions. It's disgusting.

Oh course Sega would say this, it gives them a reason NOT to put effort in.

Sonic's core fans sure wasn't keeping Sega alive during the Dreamcast years

Just modernize the original sonic game and you will please your old fans.. Actually, just remake Knuckles Chaotix. People will think it's a new game since nobody bought it!

It didnt matter what the Dreamcast did, it was trying to fix the mess that was the Saturn/32x/SEGA CD left.  Having your main mascot not be in a good game on your system for the entire saturns life is NOT a good way to keep a fanbase.

Its not Sega would cancel a good looking Sonic game over a little issue over an engine they own...OH WAIT A MINUTE.

Also which is the biggest selling Sonic games?   After the olympic games with mario its his Genesis games that are still the highest selling.

So Sega have everything laid out in front of them.  People were willing to pay for a 2D sonic game with ten levels , fast speed, tight platforming and virtually no story or shitty friends.  Even on the Virtual Console the genesis games STILL make them money.  Christ retro Sonic was BEGGED into Smash Bros! 

Yet Sega does the exact opposite, gets poorer sales then shrugs there shoulders like they have no clue.  There is no excuse, Sega just keeping making shit games then act like its the fanbase fault who arent willing to pay out for there shit. 

Give Sega a break. At least they are trying to put out a good game.

Try put out a good game?  THERE ARE MORE SHITTY SONIC GAMES THAN GOOD ONES NOW.  NINTENDO MADE THE CLOSET THING TO SONIC CHARACTER MORE THAN THE ACTUAL COMPANY THAT CREATED HIM! 

No excuses now, the shit outweighs the gold. 

@ Dinomax. I agree. Sega should look at what made the old games great, and try to replicate that in 3D. They should also stop focus group testing the game with kids for the focus group. After all, kids wanted guns in Shadow The Hedgehog. They should stop looking at demographics and just focus on making a great game wich can appeal to many people and not just the kids (All the fluff and new uninterresting characters added in the new games is obviously repelling everyone over 12, so that has to go)

The problem they are facing is that they are making the game witht he wrong age group in mind ;)
