Forums - Sales - UK Sales Corrected -- Show Wii 2009 Leader

^ Stop or he'll call you out on some new type of imaginary damage control or something.

It's probably worth noting that June's LTD numbers for the Wii have not been adjusted up, it is the previous set of data released in January that has been adjusted down. The Wii's LTD as of June 27th was given as 5.4m, and the figures now stated by GI for the end of July (week 31) are 5.5m.

GI state that the Wii has sold 800,000 units so far in 2009. According to the previously released figures, the 360 sold 600k between Jan 31st and June 27th, so if we were to estimate 100k for January and another 100k for July, we could assume that the Wii and 360 have sold approximately the same amount in 2009.

Confusingly, GI says the Wii has outsold other consoles "by some margin". In the absence of any other figures, we can only assume that the previously stated January numbers for the 360 have been adjusted up as well as the Wii being adjusted down.

So, will the Xbox be adjusted down. I recall it went up by 400,000 when the inaccurate report was released!!

If anything, it should be adjusted up:

LTD as of 27.6.09 (using current data)

          GfK    VGC

Wii     5.4    5.445        (+ 0.045)
X360  3.9    3.572        (- 0.328)
PS3    2.2    2.105        (- 0.095)

Due to rounding, the Wii could be spot on and the Ps3 out by as little as 45k, but there is a clear discrepancy in the 360 figures.

Of course, it is just a case of swings and roundabouts, as VGC's worldwide figures should still be approximately in line with official shipment data from manufacturers.

Lol! one more for the haters i guess
