Forums - Nintendo - Sega talks about sales

Madworld is great, and you can get it at 30 bucks in some places so dear Wii owners if you don't have this great game in your library grab a copy. S'il Vous Plait.

I rented MadWorld and I was greatly dissapointed. The game was way to repetitive and while the gore was interesting I turned the game off after about an hour of play. I was really dissapointed that the game was so repetitive, its one of the worst games I've ever played, of course I rarely play third party games but even for a third party game it just pure blew!

How can you possibly consider such a horrible game worth 30$, I thought my 10$ rental was a waste of money! Let alone a whole 30$

Excessive swearing won't doom a game to poor sales. See: Gears of War and a bunch of other shooter and action games. What killed these games was their failure to be interesting. Personally, I'm getting sick of overhyped internet games, but that's just me. And I do remember a decent chunk of people who would swear that MadWorld was a success.

Whatever, great interview.

LEts see what this thread has taught us.

1. 2009 3rd party best reviewed hardcore game for the wii is a "hard sell" and a dissapointemnt in sales
2. House of Dead Overkill would have sold more if it had less swear words
3. 300K coppies shipped is enough for an average Wii game to profit.
4. Sega is not talking about Sonic:the black knight...must be really bad

"3. 300K coppies shipped is enough for an average Wii game to profit."

And he didn't even say it barely profited.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Exactly what Savior was talking about in his thread.

Exactomundo. I wasn't just exaggerating. Here's the thread: http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=82424&page=1  . The interviewer here had an incessant need to question their Wii support. It was laughable.

Good to know The Conduit was indeed a success, and they only had to ship 300k to achieve that. Madworld was disappointing in sales....however Sega is STILL supporting "core" games on the Wii albeit less extreme like Madworld and House of the Dead: Overkill.

And unlike other games which put companies out of business, these didn't lose nearly enough to impede Sega's progress. That is the Nintendo Wii for ya.

Careful guys.  Remember The Conduit's unusually late publishing agreement, and largely self-funded development.  I wouldn't use such circumstantial evidence to found any theories about Wii development in general.

I don't detect any sarcasm in your post, but I know you can't be serious.

Is it wrong that I want a Valkyria Chronicles port using the engine for the PSP sequel?

No?

Because I do.

<3 you, Sega.

Oh sure, just give in with four hundred and sixty dollars +tax I don't have when I could use that to buy a bunch of Wii60/DS titles I have my eye on but don't own.
