Forums - Nintendo - Mario all stars 2009!!

I would be very upset if Nintendo released a Mario All Stars for the Wii. I would be upset because I just bought all the mario games pretty much for the Virtual Console. Many patents get filed and never used , you never know what Nintendo is thinking or what they may do with the Mario All Stars patent.

Maybe it will be Super Mario Sunshine , Galaxy and Galaxy2 all bundled together, it might also include a re-vamped Mario64. But with the money Nintendo is making on Virtual Console I doubt they will bring all those titles together and sell them at an affordable price. If you think about it they get 5$ for each NES game , 8$ for SMW and 10$ for SuperMario64. No disc price , cheaper price for retailers no packages. Its pure profit and Nintendo isn't about to give that up!

The new Mario All-Stars could be a triple-pack of Mario Galaxy, NSMBWii and Mario Galaxy 2, you know.

I would think a DS Compilation like Mario 64 DS, Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros. would make more sense than Galaxy, Galaxy 2 and NSMB Wii since two of those games aren't even released yet. Still, I don't think games already being on the VC would necessarily stop Nintendo from re-releasing them in a $50 Wii game if they see money in that.

Uhh, what? Do you mean that they would re-release the original Super Mario All-Stars as a $50 Wii game? There is simply no way that would sell, because all games are available seperately on the Virtual Console for a way better price.

One thing people may want to note -- Super Mario All-Stars gave a graphical upgrade to the NES-era games (SMB1, SMBLL, SMB2, SMB3). So they did not look like the originals.

My guess is a DS re-release.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

My guess is either a DS re-release or a NSMB-style graphical (and maybe gameplay?) update, plus the addition of a demo of NSMB.

I'm going to lean toward the theory that Nintendo is re-releasing the original Super Mario All-Stars, but upgraded yet again with New Super Mario Bros. graphics (and maybe some gameplay/control upgrades as well). I believe they'll release it for the DS and for the Wii both. The DS version will contain a demo of New Super Mario Bros, while the Wii version will have a New Super Mario Bros. Wii demo.

they can sell it as a "bundle" for just abit more but way less than all games together.

Hmm, some interesting possibilities being thrown about. I personally prefer the original game being available on the DS........I'd like my Mario to be portable.

I have no problem with the"old" graphics.

That makes 2 of us. But anyway, we get more options.., that's how I see it.
