Bullshit. most wii games don't look better than the best looking cube games

Patriot - As far as I hear, you're the only one around here going on about Wii specs Btw, if you want to see some good graphics done on the Wii, check out Mushroom Men

With the combination of a focus on taking full advantage of the processing power of the Wii and an awareness of its limitations a lot could be done to create really impressive looking games ... and in extreme cases (for example building a game similar to Resident Evil 4) the game could probably stand up pretty well against some of the games on HD consoles.

The problem is that few developers will ever try because many publishers and developers took Nintendo's move away from advanced graphics to mean that Nintendo (and their fans) did not care about the appearance of games at all. While their is some truth to this, I would actually say that most Wii owners look for games that are good looking but not necessarily technologically advanced; and many of the more advanced Wii games actually look worse than a simpler stylized game.

That is only because 3rd parties are to lazy to max the wii graphics

even if wii graphics were maxed they can only look so good.

I remember not too long after the Wii launched, IGN did an interview with the head of Factor 5, who at the time were working exclusively for Sony on Lair, and the guy said that he'd love to do some stuff for the Wii in the future because since its architecture is so similar to the GameCube's (which they had a hand in, specifically the Musy-X sound technology), they already knew the Wii like the back of their hands.

We probably would have gotten Rogue Squadron IV or the long-rumored Pilotwings update, but I guess we'll never know now.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Fixed. The HD systems have limits, so acting as though it's a problem for the Wii just shows ignorance.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Those games took many hours from me.

After the success of the Wii took everyone in the industry by surprise we're now starting to see better eye candy from Wii games from third parties. It wasn't until the Wii continued to fly off shelves after Christmas 2007 that developers and publishers started to take Wii development seriously. The Conduit, Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles, Dead Space Extraction, Red Steel 2, Cursed Mountain, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Muramasa Demon Blade, Gladiator AD and The Grinder are all raising the bar in terms of eye candy, and we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg. There's plenty more to come, the Wii has a lot more power 'under the hood' than people are giving it credit for.
