Thanks to the recent deluge of price cuts in Europe and comments from retailers about the PS3 slim, people are pretty much taking it for granted that, sometime this month, Sony will be unveiling a slim PS3 or cutting its price. But are we getting our hopes up too much? After all, rumors and hearsay are just that: rumors and hearsay. And this Ars Technica mole that has a great track record? Guess what. He's human and could be wrong.

All we have so far are a few price cuts in Europe,  some unnamed sources working at retailers, grainy pictures and videos, an executive mentioning in passing something about 70% cut in production costs (by the way, he could very well have been referring to something else) and a "mole". Don't you think that, maybe, we're making mountains out of molehills? I hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see a cheap, slim PS3. But I just think we're jumping the gun. What do you think?

With so many rumors about the ps3 slim and the cutprice, it will be a major disappointement if these rumors are unfounded.

Anyway, the question now is when will be ps3 slim launched ( august, september? ) and its price ( 350, 300, 250? ).

Yes but then we march onto GDC and hype the crap out of that.

But that's my point. It's still very much possible (some might say probable) that the slim is not real. Isn't it a bit presumptuous to start guessing on the release date and price of something that may never even be released?

Yes, it is a little bit presumptuous , but i think Sony can´t hold this third place situation week after week, much more longer.

Mostly rumors on gaming proved to be real. Just hope these be as real as the psp´s go rumors some time ago.
