Personally, I would really enjoy a remake/enhanced port. I never managed to finish the game because I thought the loading before battles took forever and the story seemed to never start. I just can't stand the game as it is today for some reason, even though I have no trouble playing all previous FF games and other old RPGs.

I believe some upgraded visuals (facial expressions would be fun to see instead of interaction bubbles), technical upgrades (less loading times) and extra quests could make the game more enjoyable to me... I think it's probably just the setting that doesn't really interest me though.

I wouldn't bet on remakes of 3D FF before a while... They are remaking the old ones cause it's for the DS and it's cheap, but remaking a 3D FF would mean to give it an HD treatment.. probably too expensive.

(but yeah psn is not out of the picture, especialy since they just did 7)

Heck yeah! To me, FFIX represents the best Final Fantasy has ever offered. Keep your clouds and your squalling about sephiroth trees to yourself. Zidane would kick all their asses and you know it.

The only game they need to release on PSN is Secret of Mana.

Not really. A 3D remake using the Crisis Core engine.

umh... Well with the possibility of releasing it on PSN and it work on PSP i'm not sure the developpment time would be cost efficient. I mean CC is nice on the PSP, but PS1 graphics are not awfull either on that screen.

But yeah I had a PS3 release in mind and forgot that the remakes are usually portable with square, so you're right.

Final Fantasy IX truly is an unappreciated masterpiece and I would enjoy a remake very much. Zidane FTW!

Let's not forget "Hunter's Chance", "Vamo alla Flamenco", "The Place I'll Return to Someday", and "Crossing Those Hills".

EDIT: Holy crap. This has got me listening to my OST.

Let's add "Mistaken Love", "Jester's of the Moon",  "The Memories Erased in the Storm", "Far Away in the Twilight", "Limited Time", "Lindbulm's Theme", "Song of Memories" (instrumental Memories of Life), "Uleke de Chocobo" (it's the chocobo theme with a ukele!), "Kuja's Theme" (and all 4 variations of it throughout the game. So epic!).

I honestly could go on. There is a reason why Uematsu said FFIX is the best game he ever worked on.
