What happens now to the trophies information?

as long as you sync your newly earned trophies with servers at Sony's end, all your trophy information will be retained.

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

My 60GB launch is still with me, but I want a slim so I won't be very pissed if it breaks.

What about psn games, can you download again?

You probably lost all your saved games. That's why detachable hard drives, like Microsofts, are so much better.

you can download and play your PSN purchases as many times as you want on "5 CURRENTLY ACTIVATED PS3"
that's why it's so important to deactivate your account on your PS3 before you send it in for fix/replace/return or sell/toss it (when you share games with friends). because chances are, same thing happens to you and your friends and all of you forgot to deactivate your account
then X number of slots are gone.....

YLOD happend to me few months ago on my 60gb ps3 that was out of warrenty. rather than buying a new one i sent it into sony for 150 bux to get another 60gb ps3. i think its refurbished but still better than 400 bux for an 80gb without BC.
I could technically sell the 60gb ps3 with BC for 300 bux now and pick up a slim now considering I still have my ps2.
