What happens now to the trophies information?

as long as you sync your newly earned trophies with servers at Sony's end, all your trophy information will be retained.

What about psn games, can you download again?

you can download and play your PSN purchases as many times as you want on "5 CURRENTLY ACTIVATED PS3"

that's why it's so important to deactivate your account on your PS3 before you send it in for fix/replace/return or sell/toss it (when you share games with friends).  because chances are, same thing happens to you and your friends and all of you forgot to deactivate your account

then X number of slots are gone.....
